Comments: I was happy with the overall time. I wasn't looking for anything earth-shattering...just wanted to see how the sore calf would hold up. THAT calf was great...the other one started to feel strained in the last 2 miles or so. What would you do differently?: Start off slower to try to get more consistent splits. Post race
Warm down: Walking, took post-race drink. Jamba Juice was there (YAY!) so had a few samples of that. What limited your ability to perform faster: Decreased training, particularly speed intervals due to sore left calf for the past 3-4 weeks. Event comments: This was the first annual of this race so there were bound to be a few bugs in it. Still had to shower and change to be in time for church (30 minute drive). Left without my award and barely made it on time. Had time to rehearse one song before service started! Last updated: 2004-10-23 12:00 AM

Registered, stretched, a little trotting, a little more stretching.
After sufficiently stretched, did some w/u jogging, a few sprint intervals of a few seconds each to see how the calf would hold up.
