Pre-race routine:

get up, eat breakfast on the road, pick up packet
Event warmup:

no real warm up... I just bounced around trying to stay warm before the start

Comments:

Wow! I'd heard that this course was "flat and fast" but I wasn't prepared for how fast! I'm completely ecstatic about my finish time!

Although I felt like my left calve and hammy were thinking about cramping, it was my right quad/hip flexor that completely locked up when I was done and trying to walk around.

I ate well, and thought I'd drank well-enough, but that makes me wonder if I was lacking salt. I had four gels on the course, which was perfect. There was only one little time when I felt a little hungry, and that was in the last half mile.
What would you do differently?:

Drink from ERG (the sports drink they had at the aid stations) earlier in the race. I didn't because I though it was Gatorade, as that's what they were calling it. Gatorade does not sit well in my tummy AT ALL, so I was avoiding it.
Post race
Warm down:

I hobbled around, drank some water and ate at least one whole banana and half an orange. I went to get a massage, but all that did was make me hurt worse and I started crying.

I hobbled over to the med tent, where they hooked me up with some ice and I sat with that on my thigh/hip while Eric went to get the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

This was my first-ever half marathon, and I had no idea about the course, or about my ability to push myself over that distance as a "race pace". Considering I'd been running solid 13+ min/miles in training, I'm more than happy with my final time.

Event comments:

I loved this race and hope to do it again next year. It's well worth the drive.

Course: A beautiful out and back along the road in the park -- nice with lots of tree cover, mostly flat, or small up/down hills. One kinda mean hill in the last mile.
