Subject: Custom Race Shirts
I have actually found a family member who wants to help me with race expenses by using my shirt as a billboard and I am trying to find a company that either makes custom "under armour" type shirts or can print logos on a similar type material.  I'm heading out the door, driving  out to volunteer at IMFL, so I thought I would post this and see what comes up by time I get home on Sunday.  Thanks for your help.

A friend of a friend has a business here in Melbourne FL that does this exactly, custom printing of shirts on any material.  If you are interested I can forward you some info on him.  Send me a PM.

Most print shops will print on whatever you bring them, if they don't have the type of material/cut that you want.

look at zazzle.com. You upload your photo, drawing, etc. onto the site, pick a shirt (they have dri-fit? available), pick your shipping, and pay. You can order as few as 1 with discounts on higher quantities. The two times i have used them i got my shirts in less than a week. If I recall, 1 dri-fit shirt runs ~$35-40 with shipping.

I believe if you take your clothing to just about any silkscreener, along with whatever art work you want, they'll be able to print it for you- It'll probably be expensive though for only a few peices. Usually you're charged a one-time artwork/ setup fee on top of the screen charge. Also remember the more colors the more expensive it'll be. Each color requires a different screen.

Cafepress.com does one-off shirts (and mugs, mouse pads etc..). Not as good quality as mass screen printed shirts but I have one I made for a special occasion and it has lasted numerous washings.

IIRC it was about $16-18 plus shipping.

We ordered some moisture wicking shirts with custom designs from customink.com last year. The shirts came out great, performed as expected, and the customer service was really good, and as I recall the turnaround time was good. Single shirts might be a problem though.

I've also heard good things about runningbanana.com, and I think they'll do single shirts.

I have been wanting to do the same thing, my concern with Dri-Fit type shirts is that if you buy the shirts yourself and bring them to a shop that the purpose of the moisture wicking material would be ruined. How ever it works it works I think that the material would be covered and prevent moisture coming out.

Anyone else?

Here's another source...
http://www.runningbanana.com/

I didn't end up buying one of their shirts but I was impressed with the options and the fact that it was dye sublimated onto a tech shirt....we went with a local silkscreener on a 50/50 shirt instead and wish we had shelled out the extra $$ for these.
