Subject: RE: Tri or Road?Depends on the kind of riding and racing you are planning on doing. If you are doing group rides, hills, and only short races, then a road bike may be for you. You can even throw on a set of shorty aero bars to make it somewhat tri-like. If you plan on going longer distances and want to be a bit more aggressive in your tris, a tri bike may be for you.
I got a road bike first and not too long later a tri bike. I do more training on my road bike, but I LOVE my tri bike. I'm faster on it and it just feels better for me.
As for buying a used bike. Look around at some shops and check out end of season deals. Also, get them to help you find out what size bike you need. Once you know this, check out:
