Just had one of those horrible "I am so freakin old moments".  Despite what a tragedy he has went and made of himself and although I would have never admitted back in the day, I think Michael Jackson's Thriller was one of the best albums ever.  Go ahead argue and disagree, I know people will.  Just saw a blurb on the news that Thriller is 25 years old.  How did time fly by so fast?

I was a cheerleader in my senior of high school then and I remember that just about every dance routine we did during basketball season was to a song from Thriller.  It was an absolute sensation.  Boy, those were the days .... Michael Jackson, Prince, Gap Band, Duran Duran.  Believe it or not, I still have the old posters that I had hung up on my bedroom walls back then.

THRILLER was released in Dec. 1982; I was a sophomore in HS.  YIKES!  Put me in the "older than dirt" category with Bryan.  Michael Jackson was pretty cool when he was still a black guy.  Now that he's a crazy white woman... not so much.

A group of dancers in my town put on a "Thriller" parade through downtown the night before Halloween.  I took my 11-yr-old daughter to see it this year - she absolutely loved it and wants to participate next year.

Yep, it was my freshman year - brings back memories!!

Funny story - my 13 year old son has been enjoying some 80's music and he's now got Thriller as a ring-tone on his phone. My wife ended up with his phone in her purse (he wasn't around) and she's standing in line at Barnes & Noble and his phone goes off. She looks to see who it is, realizes it's a "girl friend" and that she better not answer it. Not knowing where the silence button is she just has to stand there, with a long line of people looking at her like she's crazy. "No, it's my son's phone, really, it is!!" Apparently she was a couple shades redder than MJ's leather jacket.
