  • Comments: Overall it is a good race. I think the bike and run courses this year were better. Still a very hilly race though. The shirts were nice. The food after the race was only one option, a sandwich. Being vegetarian I couldn't eat it, so there was nothing for me. Seeing how this isn't a cheap sprint ($125), they could get pizza for the racers. I'll probably go back to race this course again. I seem to have a lot of luck placing in my AG on this one!

  • Comments: Overall this was a good race. Much better since they moved it to Rockwall. It's a long drive, but otherwise a good location. I'm not sure why so many newbies do this race. I guess ignorance is bliss? It's a brutal course. The swim is long for a sprint, and bike is super hilly and so is the run. I would do this race again.

  • Comments: My rating is based on the apparent lack of attention/caring from the race organizers and officials. In addition to no one officially associated with the race making sure I was ok, they also never addressed the safety issue at the section where I was hit - in front of the First United Methodist Church of Rockwall. As we sat there waiting for transport back, the turn in to the church became busier - drivers were having trouble turning in and were even driving in the coned off bike lane. Most race directors stress safety first, and I feel either due to some lack of communication or concern from the race staff that safety was not addressed. Also, I have attempted to contact the RD via e-mail and have received no response. I will update this if I get more info.

  • Comments: I felt this was a solid race that was well-organized. I thought they handled the unexpected temps and rain well. However, the buses were a cluster - some athletes didn't arrive until after 8am due to the buses and lack of them. Buses and shuttles are always a cluster at any event so they should have planned for this and handled it correctly (more buses - spaced appropriately). Also, I did not like the bike course - it is through some of the worst parts of town with roads that I don't think are fun - it's not scenic. But it does allow starting at JPL which is a good venue for parking and transition. The tech shirt (thank you for red and not white!), finisher medal and towel were expected quality. Could have used more goodies and less paper in the bag. Overall a solidly put on race but I can't see this being a 'destination' race for anyone. The finish was great but I always hate when they have events in Victory Plaza where awards were -- that tiny space between buildings I just think

  • Comments: Sounds like there were shuttle issues this year, which should not happen in third year of race. And still have rough spots on bike course. But it is a very well run race overall, and the premiere event in the DFW area. They put a lot of time, effort and thought into this race, and it pays off with a smoothly run first class event.

  • Comments: This is the only race so far that I've repeated - I like it alot. The finish for the Toyota/Lifetime Pro series makes it exciting and you get to see the stars of the sport up close and personal. The event is very well organized - I think there was an issue with not enough buses available this year to get everyone down to the swim, but overall they do a great jog of handling the logistics of a big point-point race with tons of amateurs and major pro prize purse. Only giving it 4 instead of 5 due to the bus issue. The weather didn't cooperate this year, but the race can't be held accountable for that. Hoping to come back here next year - unfortunately may end up forcing myself to do the sprint again to see if I can place ;-)

  • Comments: Very well organized race - very happy with how well the point to point worked out. I was worried my equipment left at T1 would be lost forever, but race organizers did a very good job.

  • Comments: I really enjoyed this event. It was cool to compete with (or after in my case) the pros. I would definitely like to do this race next year, although it is kind of expensive (I have to help pay for that $60,000 first prize). Oh, and the shirt could have a bigger logo so people can see it better from far away and confuse me with some kind of super-athlete!

  • Comments: I signed up for the olympic but something happened with my registration. I didn't know I was doing the sprint until I got to packet pick-up. I was furious and they wouldn't do anything to change it. By this morning I was over it and able to focus on the race. I don't know what happened with my swim but it was absolutely terrible. PR's in the ride and run as far as avg. pace so I was pleased with that effort

  • Comments: I've only done 3 triathlons now, but I've been to a number of them along with tons of running races and a couple bike races. This was by far the coolest race event I've been to. Aside from the rough road and unfortunate tour of areas not happy to be having a race blocking their roads, the race was awesome! I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone and I plan to be back next year!

  • Comments: For a first-time, point to point course, this race was very well executed. Aside from the traffic issues that truly could happen anywhere people are involved, I have no complaint. The majority of the bike course is through high-traffic areas, so I understand why that's a tall order to have no issues. I'll do this race again next year.
