  • Comments: No Jerry for awards, Mark & company handled them. They did start the sprint awards early then after a short delay the Oly awards. Separate door prizes for both groups. Big prizes at the end. This race was hurt by new races in the Cities and definitely this year seemed to have lost some of it's buzz. Numbers had to be an all time low.

  • Comments: I was happy with the race overall and would recommend it. I may do it again next year depending on my race schedule and the availability of other options closer to home.

  • Comments: The quality of this race has gone down over the years as Final Stretch took over from Bill and WinMultiSports. Less participants, not as good food and post race activities. Still a good local race.

  • Comments: Not really sold on Final Stretch. When they computed bike splits wrong on the results (not a big deal) their official timer responded to an email to me saying, "they seem about right to me given other bike races I've timed, if you have a reason that you think they are wrong then let me know..." Well, they were all 1.2mph off and "about right" just doesn't cut it for me if the person saying it is responsible for accurate timing of an event. Of course I sent a response explaining how to compute d = r*t and solving for r with all conversions included. I never received a reply or thank you for letting them know, but the results were corrected shortly after... ;-)

  • Comments: I like this race--probably my favorite. However, I think FINAL STRETCH did the awards incorrectly. Elites in their own wave should be removed from AG rankings as the rules for the MN State Championship Series dictate. Instead, the Elites received AG placing awards.

  • Comments: My wife Barb completed the sprint for her first triathlon. I am so very proud of her. Barb and her training partner Deb Zaffke have worked very hard to get ready for their first race. Congrats to both for becoming 1st time triathlon finishers!! Great showing by TriRchester, 3 out 4 1st place spots and many other podium spots. I introduced myself to Charlie Roach and had a nice chat with him. He is so fast if he is in a race I am dropped to sompeting for 2nd in our AG (at least for now). Given race circumstances I am pleased with my time and 2nd place AG finish.

  • Comments: Good race overall for my 1st attempt at an Olympic distance triathlon Great weather conditions w/ calm water, calm winds and overcast/cooler for the run. Couldn't ask for more!

  • Comments: Another good job by Bill. Some slight issues with Sprint/Oly overlap on bike especially at the end when there are runners as well on 37th St. It's always fun to do a race with Scott and spend time with him.

  • Comments: Great race put on by Bill and Win Multisports. Well organized and top shelf in terms of the race packets, course design, organization, etc. Hard to believe it was only a 2nd year race. Special thanks to the tri-rochester club for letting us tag along with my sister/brother in law to the nice, relaxing post race get together in the absolutely gorgeous Rochester weather. It was a nice way to end our trip before the 10 hour drive back to Cincy.

  • Comments: This was my first olympic distance, and a good reality check race for me. I tend to think of myself as around a top 30% sort of guy, but it is clear I need to put in more effort training to achieve this at races longer than sprints. I know swim is my limiter, and I need to work at fixing this at some point, but I have slacked off running mileage and done essentially no quality work of late in any discipline other than bike. Nice work, Bill, at organizing this event. Great field and very few complaints.

  • Comments: Olympic PR by 2:20 over Buffalo on 6/1/08. This was harder bike course plus more wind so pleased with result. Run was better than Buffalo. Lost 8:32 to my AG winner on swim but gained back 4:21 after swim. I had a lighter taper than for Buffalo. I don't feel Sprint at Mankato last weekend hurt my performance at all. Good job on my A1 race!

  • Comments: Excellent first annual Rochester event. Weather was perfect. Cool and overcast broke way to sunny and eventually quite warm. Catered food from the Canadian Honker was great. Roughly 550 participants, sold out event, I enjoyed it very much. Was quite happy with my performance in my first Tri, all my times were about the best I could hope for judging on my best training paces...
