  • Comments: Setup Events knows how to run a great race, and having done three long course races this year, this was hands down the best. Still has an old school feel, friendly but competitive atmosphere and great volunteers. The water front finish with the crowds is AWESOME!. Well done Setup, Well done.

  • Comments: Seventh time at B2B. I love this race - it's organized, friendly volunteers, right time of year, Wilmington is an awesome host..what am I leaving out? Six of the guys I stayed with PR'd, so it was pretty happy bunch and I think everyone of the group is planning on being back next year. I hope to be with them.

  • Comments: The only complaints that I heard were about timing (they had a computer crash) and pizza (need more). If that's all that people can find to complain about, that's a pretty good race!

  • Comments: don't do this race. you'll hate it (where is that sarcasm font?) I loved this race. i'm worried that it will start to fill up faster and faster and I will get left out. On Sunday afternoon, William looked at me and said "I have spent the last 30 minutes trying to figure out how to go faster next year". That is probably what I am most proud of him for. I was sure that after the run, he was going to say he was done with this distance. Instead, he is like his dad, just a little slower. I was having that same thought process about an hour after we finished Saturday night. :)

  • Comments: This was a great race. I did a HIM that was IM branded and it did have just a bit more fanfare. However, I enjoyed this race every bit as much, if not more. I would love to come back. People that I talked to said that race conditions were better in years past (swim and bike). So I feel like I could easily go sub-13 hrs if I am able to give this race another go. Even though I could have done better, I did make a lot of really good decisions throughout this race and was pleased with my overall performance. Interesting things I saw: - A female squatting on the side of the road (bike course). Not sure if it was a #1 or #2... saw lots of men peeing on side of road, but just weird to see a female going squatty. - A guy right in front of me on the bike sat up and let go of the bars to stretch. He totally lost control and went wide right and then wide left... I have no idea how he kept it upright. I pulled up to pass him and told him he scared me... he said he scared the crap

  • Comments: Great race, despite some of the problems they suffered (timing, ran out of pizza, some issues with athlete bags). Love it and will race it again...someday.

  • Comments: Beach2Battleship is an outstanding race. Clearly they have listened to the athletes suggestions over the last few years. The volunteers in this race were second to none! Some of these people were out there longer than I was constantly supporting us. I had an amazing experience in Wilmington and an amazing weekend!

  • Comments: Despite the things that went wrong for me I cannot praise this race enough. They plan details you wouldn't even think of. They know there stuff and they run the most enjoyable race you could ever imagine. You should do this race, that simple. It is worth it. It is cheaper than Ironman. Wilmington is beautiful and not expensive to visit, the conditions are great. This race is worth doing in every way and if you don't have equipment failures you will have an amazing finish time here.

  • Comments: This race is well organized and well run by Setup Events. I would highly recommend this race whether it is going to be your first full distance or you are a seasoned veteran. The volunteers were second to none. The aide stations were the best stocked of any I have ever seen. One would have to work pretty hard to get lost at any point in your race from the expo directions, setting up your transition bags at two separate locations, the morning announcements, the swim start crew directions, T1 support, T2 support, to race course support, these folks work hard to make racing as easy as possible.

  • Comments: I have completed (3) 70.3 races and this was the best executed race so far. An excellent choice for those who are interested in doing a full distance with less drama.

  • Comments: The race went flawless with little stress on our parts. Transportation was great. Staying at the Hilton was a good choice because it was a block from the finish line. Post event activities were nice. There was a live band, medical tent, warming tent, food, people hanging around, it was very nice. Sunday we went to the post race awards banquet and ate a huge meal. This was by the battleship. A great race, Setup events did awesome, and the Wilmington Family YMCA and PPD were awesome sponsors.
