  • Comments: Way exceeded my expectations, the weather had a lot do with that. Heat and humidity take a toll on this clydesdale body!

  • Comments: IMFL was the best experience I have ever had but this was the best RACE I have ever had. Everything went right from the weather to my body. Ironman put on another awesome event that had no shortage of volunteers wanting to help you. The hotel was the best I have ever stayed at. There was lots of great post race food at the finish. The transportation was spot on!! Busses took us to T1 and back. After the race they took us to T1 again. They were running until 7PM. The only down sides were 1) Rain and 2) they only had 1 roll of space blankets. It is usually hot and humid but today was cold. I was lucky enough to get one, which of course went to my girl.

  • Comments: Awesome race. I had so much fun. Very organized. Lots of volunteers. Lots of swag. I'm spoiled having done an m dot in my first year of racing. Overall, I am very pleased with the race. A few people told me it wasn't a good idea to do a 70.3 in my 1st year, much less my 2nd triathlon. Experience was a big factor, but I was prepared and it went better that I thought it would go. My goal was 6:15:00 and I smoked it.

  • Comments: Honestly, I could not have been happier both with the course, organization, weather, and my performance in the race. This was my first half ironman and I surpassed every goal I had set for myself. I had several goals: Finish..done. Finish under 5:45...did it in 5:23. Do the bike course over 20mph...did 20.23mph. Do the run in under 2 hours...did it in 1:57:49. Don't walk on the run...I didn't walk. Everything came together for a perfect race day and I couldn't be more thankful.

  • Comments: The race was great. The only negative and it was not that bad would be the post race food. Pizza just really wasn't my thing Sunday. A hamburger would have been much better for me. The National Guard on the bike course were awesome. A special thanks to all those guys. I thought the party atmoshere in the downtown are was great. I will be back next year to break 6:00.

  • Comments: Overall, a well-supported well-run race in a town that welcomed the racers. They got the food tent right. Finish chute was well done. No real entertainment (dj, band?) at the finish. But the organization of the race was impeccably orchestrated. And a downstream swim!
