  • Comments: It was pretty cool to do a race this large, and the organizers did a great job considering the number of entrants. But, I think I would prefer to stick to smaller events, the logistics are just too crazy.

  • Comments: This is an awesome experience. I am racing three big races this year, NY, Chicago and The Nations in DC. So far the first two have been awesome experiences, and if The Nations is as much fun as last year, it will be 3 for 3. The logistics behind a race of this size in a major city are staggering. I think with just about everything that the RDs could control they did extremely well. Everything was ontime and very organized. Lake Shore Drive was in terrible condition. I grew up near Chicago and it was always bad, but I dont remember it ever being that bad. I would recommend this race with the advice that you need to remember the fact that it is one of the largest races in the world so it is going to be crowded, have a huge transition, and a rough bike course. But is a great race in a great city and one that I would definitely do again.

  • Comments: It was a well organized and fun race to do. I think the expo was a great time and good money sucker. I think I may have bought too much. But, you can never buy too much. I would like to do this one again next year.

  • Comments: This was a great race. I would like to try a different race next year to get to travel, but this was such a great race that I can see going back every year so I can compare my times.

  • Comments: Loved the course, previous best in an olympic distance was 3 hours and 17 min. I cut 22 min off of that. Not sure when that is going to be beat but it's a great feeling. Hope you enjoyed the report as much as I enjoyed the race. I would highly consider this race again next year.

  • Comments: 1st Oly-distance race! Can't begin to describe my excitement after completing swim portion. Will definitely do this race again (if not annually). Less than a year has passed since 1st sprint race and very happy with progress. Already looking forward to 2009 race season and continued swimming improvement. Great race and fabulous city!

  • Comments: AWESOME RACE! I beat my previous best time in an Olympic by almost 15 minutes so i was very pleased. This is the best event I have ever done...hands down. Very well supported (20,000 people out cheering us on), great volunteers, the host hotel is near by....and you can't beat Chicago as a venue. I will be back!

  • Comments: Incredibly well organized. Such an amazing thing to be part of 9000 people racing! That is cool. I was really happy to be part of an event. It took the pressure totally off for me and I just enjoyed myself. Even with the GI stuff that hit at the run and post race. It was fun meeting people like David and Trixie and Tony. I think this is one of those must do races at some point but not sure I want to do such a huge one again. The views were incredible whilst racing and the whole crowd was great. I loved all the spectators especially during the swim! That was great being next to the pier even if it meant swallowing diesel...It was amazing seeing so many fit people out doing this and I was one of them! I like the longer distance - what a shocker!!! This was my first Olympic and I think because it was so big the pressure was off and I just had fun. They put up percentiles on the accenture site: 60% overall, 74% for gender, 81% for division (cool) 56% on swim 72% on bike 51%

  • Comments: kinda got pissed when they wouldnt let us back into transition to get our stuff. They were letting like 10 people in at a time. With 8000 people there... it got ugly.

  • Comments: It was a great day. I was a LOT more tired then I was after my Sprint, but I did well. Stats aren't anything to write home about, but for ME I think they are awesome. I was hoping to finish in under 4:00 and secretly hoping for 3:45 so 3:33 is sweet by me. It feels great to have worked so hard for this all year long. I've come such a long way. I LOVED this race it's huge and crowded but the energy is fantastic.

  • Comments: I can now say I've done Accenture. First and last time for me. The Triple Challenge was fun but very taxing on the body. So tired when I was done and the bike ride home really sucked. The Triple Challenge rack forms a mini bond as you see eachother so much during the weekend. Wish my results were a little better. Tonight I'll did through the results and see how the other triple's did on the oly. I did pace a guy right before the finish. I think I hit my goal of top 10 though. We'll see.

  • Comments: This race is well put on. For something this huge to be put on, and to be able to get it pulled off so well, and be so organized, is nothing short of amazing. And to do it each and every year, job well done. That being said, I don't know if I will be doing this race again. First, it is so huge, it can be a bit of a pain just to participate. Plus, unless the city does something to fix the potholes on LSD, the bike just isn't worth it. And finally, I'm going back to Sprints and I just can't justify investing that much money for something that is turning out to be a bit more hassle than it is worth. But if you haven't done it (I've done it twice), I would recommend it. If for anything, do it for the experience. It is something else.
