  • Comments: I did use positive mental messaging throughout the entire run, not just the last mile and it worked out well. I was proud of my ability to make my competition suffer a bit as they tried to stay with me on the run. I am excited about my time and am looking forward to getting into the 2:30's

  • Comments: I could sit here bitchin about the different RAM races I've done (or signed up for and backed out of) because of their lack of attention to detail. But I won't. However, case in point - anyone who did they race go right now and get your cycling jersey (I'll wait). Okay, look at both side panels. Something eschew? (hopefully I'm making a point here and that I didn't get the only jersey with the words/letters reversed and upside down).

  • Comments: RAM puts on a good race. Lots of people participating in the three events of the day. Good venue, good breakfast afterwards. Not sure why they didn't do the award ceromony on site ,though? And why the heck don't they have a bib pickup on site??? Oh yeah, the goodie bag had a nice bike jersey in it. So, now I have another one to compliment my Pleasant Prairie jersey. This should make Whizzzz happy.

  • Comments: TOTAL time off from last year: 39:51 One other stat: I was 88/179 for Females. I FINALLY went under 3 hours for a race where the swim is long...and the bike and run are NOT easy by ANY means! I felt like a competitor out there...FINALLY...this is the race I have wanted for a couple years now. After bonking as bad as I did in Racine...this was AWESOME!!!! :)

  • Comments: RAM Racing event. RAM stands for Really Against Measuring. My swim was 5 minutes faster than last year. 13 minutes slower than an alleged 1500 at Bigfoot (also a RAM race) and only three minues slower than 1.2 at Racine. The swim could NOT have been 1500. RAM just doest get this one right. The swim was long AGAIN. A little better with amount of water on course, but thank GOD it was overcast or couldve turned into another zombie shuffle. I dont know if I will go back next year. That lake is nasty with weeds and mud at exit and RAM cannot get a swim course right. Trouble is that it is soooo close, hard to pass up race basically in back yard.

  • Comments: I won't be doing any more RAM races. Big foot and this one...while they have nice give aways, they're REALLY disorganized and I would MUCH rather spend my money at a better race like Chicago or Pleasant Prairie. SO SO SO SO SO happy to have all those spectators there. There is probably NO way I would have finished if they weren't there...I was really having a tough day, mentally, and knowing they would be there waiting for me at the finish, meant soooooo much to me! And here a week ago I was complaining about not having anyone, and today I had a whole bunch...it put such a smile on my face. And to end on a good note, I know there is a lot of "bad" in this RR, but when I thought about it on the drive home, I thought to myself, "Well, that really sucked, but at least I am able to go out there and compete," so I am happy for that. The fact that I do these, and made it to the finish, and my family and friends were there to bring me in, that is just terrific! Not EVERY race can be

  • Comments: Running Away does such great running races in the city. That swim had to have been long. Why didnt they set up a water station on the bike? Water tables in shade on the run, and maybe one more? Hindsight is 20/20, I guess. Am grateful just to be out there doing this stuff and very pleased just to finish.

  • Comments: I don't think I'll be doing this race again. The only reason I didn't give it a 1 was the post race food spread was good and they at least passed out bags of ice at the end. From the disorganization at the beginning in transition, to the race starting 10 minutes late, to the long swim, to the warm HEED on the run course. It was not a very well run race. The two people I ran the race with, both felt the same way. In fact we have all emailed the race director to let her know how disappointed we are. ETA: I got an email back from the RD saying the swim was accurate and everbody's time was slow due to the wind. Her last line was that I learn how to breath on both sides while swimming. I guess a due east swim start at daybreak has nothing to do with not being able to see the single bouy they had out there. Her last line put me over the edge. No more RAM races for me or buying a single item at their store.

  • Comments: They really need to have more bouys. It was almost unfair that they only had 1 bouy at the turn and 1 at the finish. I couldn't navigate well at all and that affected my swim time. They NEED to have more bouys. Also more water stops on the run course when it's that hot out. Just set another one up. It would have really helped everyone I think. It was a tough race. Hopefully Ironman Wisconsin isn't that hot.

  • Comments: Really "Fun" race to run. Event staff were present and helpful. Volunteers needed more education about key race locations and descriptions but you can't hold that against them. This was the first time at this location so that explains quite a bit. Awesome Raffle Prize, I wish I won!

  • Comments: The swim could use some tweaking but for this being the first Bangs Lake Triathlon, it was very well organized. The bike and run portion were great. I'll look forward to doing this again next yer.

  • Comments: I really liked this race and will probably be back next year. I just hope they do something about the swim or I will need to bring sun glasses googles. Either way it was pretty cool race. I like the 2 identical loops on the bike and the run since you really got to see the other racers where I would normally not see anyone. I pred over chicago Tri last year by 10 minutes.

  • Comments: Here are my thoughts, less the misery of the day. 1) Needs more porta-potties. There were 3 for the crowd of 1000 racers. 2) If the race is delayed, get the kids some water. I realize they couldn't control the weather and REALLY wanted to have the race but the updates were mostly "We're on the mic to tell you that we'll tell you something in 5 more minutes." The race time just kept getting pushed back and pushed back in teeny tiny increments.

  • Comments: I'm always dissapointed when there's no medal. I love a medal to say I finished! I wish there were more spectators cheering us on. I wish the lady standing at the hill wouldn't have told me it was flat the rest of the way. C'est la vie.
