  • Comments: Only reason I did not give this race 4 stars was the condition of the water on the swim. Logistically and leadership wise, this was an excellent race.

  • Comments: As somebody commented last year on their race report, I would have to agree on the pitiful shirt. Anyhow, it was a great race overall. Close to home and had lots of fun.

  • Comments: Great volunteers. Great support from the town (police). Good course for a first timer. Ending the race away from the porta-potties is a problem.

  • Comments: Excelllent race by RD Joe Patenella and Greenbrook Racing. LOVED the fact it is 15 mins from my house. Great to have the family there at a (somewhat) reasonable hour....race started at 8am, my wave was 8:09. Overall I was able to try out swimming w HR strap, new sleeveless wetsuit, and practice transitions before my HIM race, so I am pleased. Also got a friend into tri's, and hung out with fellow members of Jersey Shore tri club - one was 4th OA !!

  • Comments: A lot of people won't even consider this race because of the swim, which, as I mentioned, is in a glorified duck pond. But if you live in the area, it is just too darn convenient to pass up. It is a great way to kick off the tri season, the organizers and volunteers are great, and it is really hassle free.

  • Comments: Last year I came in 1 in my AG. My goal for this year was to be faster on the run and hopefully the bike. I accomplished those goals - by a few seconds. Im much happier with that than I would have been had I gotten hardware but raced slower. My transitions in this race were atrocious and that's something I"ll definitely work on. Free time is always good. No kitten for me this race. Maybe next time.

  • Comments: Summer of '08 was lost to a serious back injury so this was my 1st event since August 2007. It was also my 1st time in a wetsuit and I had major training challenges since mid-April (personal, family, work situations cut deeply into training). Given that and given the equipment issues I had -- especially with my running shoes -- I am very satisfied with my overall performance. I see most improved performance in the run, which I worked especially hard at. The experience with the good Samaritan who insisted I borrow his running shoes was amazing. He showed total trust in me and is further evidence that triathletes are special people. Greenbrook Racing delivers an excellent, challenging course, is very organized, and attracts an unbelievable field of athletes. Definitely recommend this race.

  • Comments: First triathlon for me. Volunteers were great, great tri for a beginner. The only time the town allows swimming in the lake is for this event, so it's very murcky with rocks on the entry and ankle deep muck at the end of the swim. Can't see at all in the water. For $80+ they should at least come up with a better shirt than one with the logo on the left breast and nothing on the back. This race was full of begginers and we want a shirt that shows off our accomplishment. That kept me from giving this a 4 rating.

  • Comments: Greenbrook racing puts on great events that are really well organized, have great volunteers & lots of them, and plenty of post-race drinks and food. My only complaint....ONLY 4 port-a-potties!!!! Not nearly enough!

  • Comments: Girls were playing on the playground and we were hanging around -Mike went to check results and came back to tell me I took first! I thought he was joking but I went to look and he wasn't! :) :) It was odd b/c waves weren't by AG - I was in the last wave w/ older folks, young folks just a bunch of different people. Maybe since I signed up yesterday I just got plunked in back. Oh well. I was happy to say the least!!
