  • Comments: I went into this race as a training race for IMLP. I knew I wanted to push a little, but I wasn't going to race it all out. Once I saw a sub 5 in my grasp during the run, I gave it my all. I ended with a 4:57 finish time! Everything went as planned which is nice. Oh, for the first 3-4 miles on the run my hamstrings and right Tibialis anterior were really fatigued. It's day after the race amd my hamstrings, hips and calves are a bit achy but not as bad as expected.

  • Comments: This was a blast! It was the largest triathlon I have ever competed in. And it was very well run. I highly recommend doing a travel race. It was so cool to race in a completely different environment and meet new people. I am very proud of my efforts on the swim and bike. Maybe one day I will get to do a half ironman and be completely healthy and trained for the run.

  • Comments: PB by 15min Nutrition plan worked great. Pacing plan was good; had to adjust due to the heat. I'm learning to use perceived effort in conjunction with HR. Great support and volunteers. It would have been even better if we didn't have a 9hr drive home!

  • Comments: This was my first HIM and I wanted to make sure I made it something great. EndorFun puts on a great race and I highly recommend anything they are associated with. N.H. and the course were beautiful and provided a great setting. Although traveling to N.H. was expensive (bike shipping etc.) The weekend fulfilled my expectations for my first HIM experience. It was AWESOME. When I crossed the finish line I felt fantastic (endorphin high?) Really I was so happy I almost bought every item that they sold that said Mooseman. After the finish, I was much more proud of myself then I expected. I am a Half Ironman!!!!! IMKY here I come

  • Comments: This is a very organized and well-supported race. Lots of volunteers, plenty to eat and drink out on the course, plenty of cops and marshalls, mile makers, arrows, plenty of portos in the transition area (very rare) and on the course, cool Moose goodies.

  • Comments: I love this race. Its very well run and its a challenging course in a beautiful setting. We had a fun weekend too with a little downtime to enjoy leading up to the race. And, of course, a shout out to my Iron Sherpa without whom any of this would not be possible.

  • Comments: As expected a well organized event. It was a toss up between Patriot and Mooseman for me. The deciding factor was that BT was comming to town, and I was rewarded for the decision. Getting the chance to meet Ron and Marmadaddy was a chance I may not get very often. I am greatful to both of them for all they do on this site along with countless others who quitly contibute to BT and our sport in general. Getting the chance to spend the weekend with them was something I will never forget. The race was one of stamina and my pace was set with that in mind. Tacticaly, I could not have planned or executed it any better. Little issues like forgeting my endurolytes on the bike and walking the hills were little things that were adjusted for early. Even my sore shoulder could not wreck the day. It was amazing. In most races, I am writing the race report in my head as I go. This race was no exception. The difference is the time out on the course is longer, and decisions take longer to show results.

  • Comments: Top notch race!! Great course and great experience. Going into the race my goal was to break 6 hours. I thought if I could break 5:45 that would be fantastic. I never would have thought that I could run my first 1/2 in 5 hours. Even 24 hours after the race, I am still on cloud nine and just in awe that I could do something like that. I want to thank Rob and Mike for all those inspires during that mid-winter training to keep me focused and motivated. I also want to thank my family for supporting me in this crazy hobby that I obsess over way to much.

  • Comments: Great aid stations, great volunteers, really awesome goodies (I kept thinking that I HAD to finish so I could wear my hat and shirt guilt-free), great snacks. A special shout-out to my personal kayak escort and the people on the beach that waited for the last of us to come in. my only complaint is not getting to see the Moose.

  • Comments: I have to say that all the volunteer support out on the course and in the park was just awesome. Lots of great folks making the race safe and well organized. This was a tough one to choose for a first HIM and this early in the season. I can't say I won't be back to try it again ;)

  • Comments: Even though I didn't go sub-5, and the bike sucked, the rest of the race was great, and I beat last years time by 16 minutes (most of it on the run). My three half IM races so far: Mooseman 2007 s35:23 T1 2:31 b2:53:02 T2 1:22 r1:35:07 Mooseman 2006 s37:49 T1 3:00 b2:53:58 T2 2:14 r1:46:18 Timberman 2005 s45:39 T1 4:00 b3:02:22 T2 2:17 r2:04:25 Great to see so many BTers this weekend - HUGE congratulations to Jeff (Jackemy) and Mike (MikeJ) on just destroying their first ever halfs, both of them in just over 5 hours.
