  • Comments: I enjoyed the race quite a bit. It was certainly a challenging first half ironman race for me. I'm also still learning quite a bit with it being only my second triathlon. I'm looking forward to improving my time at the next venue.

  • Comments: This was an extremely well organized event. Considering all the rain and bad weather, the workers and volunteers did a great job of adjusting to make it work. There were plenty of volunteers and the police presence on the roads was incredible. I was extremely impressed at how smooth the whole thing went. Thanks to everyone who put this race on and made it so successful.

  • Comments: Overall, I had a good time(even though the race report seems depressing). I learned a lot about the mental aspect of the sport. The best part was seeing my family at the finish line so proud of me. I will learn from my mistakes and now I know what I need to fix. It was my 1st HIM so I know I can do better next time!

  • Comments: they changed the bike course and made it a much tougher, that's why it took me 40 minutes longer compared to timberman last year. still fun race!

  • Comments: This was a great race. Very well organized and supported. The course is very difficult but it is certainly doable! Overall I learned a lot of good tips and tricks to take advantage of in Lake Placid next month.

  • Comments: I say the overall course was just right based on my ability - but it totally kicked my butt. But I can't say it was "too hard"... because then I have no business going for the Ironman in 7 weeks. What I feel best about is how I feel today - the day after. I feel great. All loose and happy - walking up and down stairs just fine. Yoga was fine. I didn't feel like a tin man. Last night I ate protein for dinner, showered, put on my compress Rx shorts and calf sleeves and laid down - went to bed at 9pm - woke up at almost 8am - and just feel really good. So I think that's awesome news. I'd like to have performed better on paper, but as I break down the race, I think I did really well for me. Just that everyone else did better. :-) I am also a little concerned because as I laid in bed last night - I realized I would still be racing at that time in 7 weeks. As I got off the bike yesterday, no part of me could imagine going for 2 more loops. The bike is the toughest for me mentally...

  • Comments: I still have NO IDEA where that 1:50:03 run came from. That run was the highlight of my day and basically saved the day. I had a great swim, and despite the conditions, did the best I could on the bike. I guess I have gotten used to going much faster on the bike this season that holding almost 18mph is slow? Its the terrain, stupid! haha! I really want to go out there and bust out a stand alone half marathon now. I came within 5 mins of my stand alone time even after a super hard bike. I guess my hard work has been paying off? So now I am looking forward to resting for about a week before starting to build back up again for Timberman in 11 weeks. Thanks for reading!

  • Comments: First off, I was really happy we got the race in. It did rain the entire race, but I was nervous they were going to have to cancel it due to the weather, especially after they canceled the swim in the Olympic distance race the day before. My goal was to come in under 5 hours, which I did not do, but considering the conditions, I'm pretty happy as it was a really tough course. I'm disappointed with my swim and run times, but it's all good as I'm still getting faster. I really liked this race and had an awesome weekend even with the rough weather.

Hell, I qualified for Clearwater, which was my goal for the season!!!!! at the same time though, I know I have long ways to go to reach my full potential! Soooo I am excited I am going to CL, but I now MUST get faster!!!! Bring it! :)

  • Comments: The only comment that I have regarding the volunteers is that there weren't as many on the second loop of the bike course which made some of dangerous descents even more dangerous b/c you didn't have people there warning you to slow down in certain areas.

  • Comments: Keith puts on an awesome race. My family and I had a great time. The kids loved the kids zone, the Moose and the beach. Great food for everyone and lots of great swag. We are all looking forward to going to more of his races in the future.

  • Comments: Overall I think I had a very good race. I really enjoyed racing with friends that were amazingly supportive. The honest hope for each other that we each have our best day is probably what I enjoy most when competing in this sport. Having a coach to help with training has proved invaluable and this is most evident when I compare this race to last year's Timberman. In the swim I improved roughly 10 min, the bike roughly 15 min and the run is faster by over an hour! I keep on improving like this I could really be fast next year! ;) I can't wait to come back next year.

  • Comments: Keith puts on great races...lots of improvement year after year. The new finish area, food, kids area, were wonderful. Being a relay was a bit odd as we didn't get water bottles, medals, t-shirts and the results were not updated for more than 1.5 hour. Timing folks helped out printing out relay results when we asked. We moved up to 3rd with Helen's run and waited for awards and they only gave relays to first...odd. Checking the website that is what they say but seems odd. Why not give it 3 deep like all the other awards? Beautiful venue but with the cold water not likely I'll be doing full HIM or Oly again...I just don't like swimming in water in the 50's. Helen and Maraianne were great relay partners..did great and had fun!

  • Comments: As always I went into this race with many goals, first to beat last year’s time. Beyond that I set a goal of 5:48. I thought this was reasonable and possible. Next step up I thought 5:40 was attainable if I had a really good day. Anything under 5:40 would be gravy. I really had no idea what I was capable of. I felt in training I was faster than last season. But I haven’t been able to put a good/healthy race together to prove it. 5:35, that's a lot of gravy.
