  • Comments: Used this as a early season training race, so pleased with results, especially after lazy week. First multi-sport event in 3 years (BP2008), so good to have it under my belt. Rumpass Int'l next weekend. Water will be cold.

  • Comments: I really enjoyed the race. Having it being my first race ever, I do not have anything to compare it to. There was one snafu that may have affect some racers. There were several bib numbers that have detached themselves from the riders' bikes and were seen along the road. It was due to the wind, mechanical problem and/or user problem. Apparently that breaks 2 USAT rules, littering and something about leaving equipment. 2 minute penalties could be applied. Obviously, it was being disputed with the USAT referee and I do not know what became of it. I certainly do not think it is fair. It's good to know these rules, anyway.

  • Comments: The venue was just beautiful the day before, and the race folks very polite and even apologetic for weather that wasn't their faults. Transition was well set up, the run was as simple as could be. I don't eat meat but everyone says the pork bbq was tasty. Oh, best of all, the trophies, herons for larger prizes & ducks for A/G were neat and unique. I took first Master and got a heron, and just knowing that the ducks were there helped me to focus on trying to get an A/G placing.

  • Comments: This race was in a new location this year and they have some issues to sort out with the bike course specifically. I think if they can get some extra road from the city and make it 2 laps that will help. I'd also like to see the draft marshals hand out some penalties. Get tough on the cheaters and they will either stop coming to this race or start following the rules. Either is fine with me.

  • Comments: Great race! Excellent support and staff. The bike portion consists of three loops so things tended to get crowded particularly every time we passed the start. There were many drafting complaints - I did not see any major criminals except when things got crowded and most of the racers had no place to go. Overall great race!

  • Comments: This was my second duathlon and I felt really happy with the performance overall. In my first duathlon last year I was in the bottom quarter of the men, this time I was 102 out of 205 men. There must be something to this training business after all!

  • Comments: Great introduction race for me! Lot's of fun. Overall, I have to say I am hooked. Now it is time to learn to swim. :) I've already signed up for a TRI in June and have my eye on a HIM in September.
