  • Comments: This is a fun race, afterwards I walked around with Molly and met tons of great people. That is one of the best parts of the sport IMO. Sat down with Ken, Frank, Marcy, Lindsay, and the rest of the group and chatted for a while. Frank was in great spirits and bought the whole table french fries, cheese sticks, and hot-dogs which was awesome. Just an awesome group of people. Had to leave a little earlier than I would have liked due to the dog and a tired gf haha.

  • Comments: Great, put-together race. Also great prizes, even though I didn't get one...they gave out travel coffee mugs! Good food afterward, too!

  • Comments: Another great one for the Flora Bama. Much more lax than a USAT event. The drafting on the bike was out of control.

  • Comments: This was a really fun race even if there did seem to be a bit of disorganization. You got the feeling that everyone was just there to have a good time and that's what everyone did.

  • Comments: This was my first Tri so I don't know how to compare it. My goal was to keep it under 2 hours and I acheived that. It was harder than I thought but a blast! Can't wait for my next one.

  • Comments: This race is really what racing is about for Marcy and I. We started at this race in 2002 (I was on a relay team) and had so much fun, we got really into the sport. The lifelong friends we started racing with were all at this race and most of them in our house. In addition, my wifes sister did this race too. It was her first tri in open water (what a way to break in to open water). Marcy was 3rd in her age group and 11th overall female and beat me by 25 seconds. The post race party was great as usual. Plenty of beer and food but the lines for free beer were long. We didn't let that stop us as they pay beer lines were not long. Results are a little slow because they don't have chips but just more time to socialize. Met 2 BT'ers (jhacker and tee). Jessica completed her first race and Tee had the 4th best swim out of over 400 racers.

  • Comments: The extra length in the bike made it pretty tough. Felt good to finish it well after a bad swim.

  • Comments: Its not the most organized, but its the most fun. The Florabama has moved with me from my partying youth to my middle age madness of racing. Considering the hurricane situation, the race was awesome.
