  • Comments: Fun race for St. Paddy's Day. The field was huge this year which means you just have to try and have fun and not stress over time. This run is more about celebrating the Irish than about being an actual runner ;). Fun time and glad I got to run with husband and son.

  • Comments: There were no water stations during the course of the race. Plus, they ran out of water bottles at the finish line as well. Also, there was supposed to be a commemorative pick up for first 1500 race finishers and I was certainly among the first 1500 and still didn't get my commemorative. The start was a bit confusing, since we couldn't really hear the announcers very well. Overall, the race organization was definitely below average. There were no volunteers at the finish line to even tell us where to go from there. The finish area was definitely not very well planned.

  • Comments: A fun race put on by Hartford Marathon Foundation. You get a nice t-shirt and a cool pint glass so its worth the price of admission. Plus, it puts you down town on St. Paddy's day weekend for a little festivity.

  • Comments: As always, Hartford Marathon puts on a good race. They had a great day and a great turnout! I bet the post race food was good too, but we couldnt take the time to wait in the long line. Got a nice glass and pretty nice tee too just for participating.

  • Comments: There was a mile marker at mile 1 but I did not see one at mile 2, which messed up my pacing a little. Overall this was a good early-season race. The HMF seems to put on a good show.

  • Comments: Disorganized event; event started later than expected and had us freezing in very cold wind chill conditions for quite some time; police had us switching between right and left numeorus times per lap as they clearly ahd not anticipated the differences in speed between sprinters, joggers, and walkers. The after-event area was extremely crowded and chaotic. And yes, Id like some cheese with my whine, I simply prefer things a little cleaner cut than they were.

  • Comments: I thought this was a good race (although I don't have any to compare it to) and I would do it again next year. The golden potato is a sh*tty finisher's medal, but oh well. I liked the course because I work in downtown Hartford and these are my stomping grounds.

  • Comments: This race was well organized, lots of police presence and a fair number of volunteers considering the rainy weather. Water stations should have been more clearly marked, and I would have liked to see either a marked mile 2 point or one that was as obvious as the first mile marker. Nice T-shirts. Good post race food spread. Not much crowd turnout for the number of racers, but this could have been weather related.
