  • Comments: I really enjoyed the race. My goal was 3:00 and I crushed that. Plus, I felt strong the whoel time and new I could have done even better. I'm beating 2:30 next year! The volunteers and the race organization/post activities were fantastic. It was great meeting all the BT'ers after the race. What a great group of people. Every single one of them (you).

  • Comments: great social event at the end. Sucks to be in the last wave and slow. People were about to leave as I was settling in. The highlight of the day were the number of BTers with PR's. Sue just rocked it hard today. She got my tough cookie award that was given to me 2 years ago by TriMom217 ;) It was great to see Marma and the family. Add to that the now annual pigramage of Sue's parents to the event. Kathy and her clan we in attandace too. Best part of the weekend was finding out there is a movement to make it a 2 day event with a sprint distance race and a kids race on Sat.. This was kind of a breakthrough race for me. I had goals, but no pressure. No excuses and just had a nice race. Did not realy get too up or down, just in a "happy place". I think I am learning from the likes of Max, Sue and Dennise.

  • Comments: Overall it was a great day. Fun race with good friends. That plus I TOTALLY ROCKED IT!!!! Joanne asked me what allowed me to go so much faster this year...CAUSE I COULD ACTULLAY RUN this year. Joe handed over his tough cookie award to me (THANKS JOE) and Denise gave hers to Julie. Great day in MA :)

  • Comments: The water stops every mile on the run course were wonderful, the bike course was pretty easy and I really enjoyed it. I wasn't a fan of the swim course, but I don't think I ever particularly enjoy the swim. The post race food was pretty good.

  • Comments: This was my second triathlon and first Olympic, so overall I am very pleased with my results. There are minor things I can do differently to improve my time in the future, and I will continue to work on those. I passed a total of 7 people. 3 flat tires, 2 crash victims, and 2 runners with muscle cramps. Maybe next year I'll be able to pass someone that's moving.

  • Comments: For all in intents and purposes the race was run well. Couple of little things here and there were annoying, such as the race starting 15 minutes late because there were not enough people working registration. The only part that was truly annoying is the race director snapping at people. If anyone asked a questions, he would just shout back no. We did registration pickup the day before, and they were 15 minutes late opening that day also and the race director yelled at us to be patient when no one was evening complaining. Otherwise, I thought the bike and run course (the pond water level was low and kind of gross) were very nice and the race was run well overall.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too easy

  • Comments: I thought it was a bit easy of a course. Hard to weed out people since bike was so flat and run was pretty flat. Race was VERY well run, though. We started the first wave of swimmers at 8:15 versus 8:00, that's the only thing that ran late. It seemed like all the porta-potties ran out of toilet paper before the race even started. NOT good. About the only bad spot during the entire race. Wish I could have hung out for post race activities and awards, but had to get home to my dogs. Great first olympic distance race for me! Looking forward to a HIM next year. :)

  • Comments: Given that this was a "recovery race" I was pleased with my results. My swim pace was a bit slower this year, but my bike and run paces were higher so my overall time (adjusted for the shortened swim) was lower. I was also pleased that my swim and bike times put me in the middle of the pack, for my category (Clydesdales) and overall.
