Comments:

stopped 1 mile into ride. back tire was nearly flat. I had issues pumping and getting air into the tire before I left home and again in transition.

by far...by far...the slowest time I have ever had on the bike. Much to be worked on here.

Comments:

par for the course. in the heat and humidity, this is my pace if I'm gonna be 235lbs. Only stopped to walk at the water station roughly 2.60 miles into run. My chest feels soooooooo compressed after getting of the bike and starting the run. like I need to rip my shirt off or something. With weightloss still my top priority this summer, hopefully a 35 lb weight drop will help me with this distance.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

this was a training deal - i wasn't racing. this was my first tri in almost three seasons.

Event comments:

Really nice race. First time doing it. Organized nicely, nice lake, water and course, a terrific straight out and back bike course and a very nicely shaded 5K run course. May very well do this one again if I can't get into Stone Harbor.

My first triathlon was at age 56. At first I was just the cameraman at my daughter's first triathlon, then I am doing the races that she has done.

The triathlon made a lot of sense as I could fit the training around early mornings and other times that wouldn't eat too much into my family time. Things never go completely to plan do they?

I found a sprint, the Lake Las Vegas Triathlon, that was happening four months down the road and signed myself up; much to the surprise of friends and family.

The first time I ventured into the deep murky green lake and could not see the bottom my muscles tensed and my imagined fears surfaced. What exactly lies beneath?

Both the Lake Triathlon Shoe CX210TRI and the Lake Road Shoe CX225 offer distinct advantages. I tested both shoes and found them to be extremely comfortable, good looking and durable.

If you are calm while everyone around you is losing it, you probably don’t know what the hell is going on.
