I went for a ride today and the cadence sensor wasn't picking up. The rest of the computer was working any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks.

Did you try to reset it? Make sure all magnets are in place. These steps usually get mine to work.

Make sure the gap between the magnet on your crank and the sensor is the smallest it can possibly be without hitting.  Also make sure that the center of the magnet on your crank passes directly over the sensor "line."

I have yet to have a problem with my Cateye Strada Cadence (knocks on wood).

I had the same problem with that computer and was never able to get it to work...the configuration of the cranks and chainstay on the particular bike I put it on wouldn't allow for a narrow enough gap.  I could have removed the magnet or the cadence sensor and tried to jury rig some arrangement to narrow the gap, but I never got around to it...then the bike was stolen...so that took care of that.

(E.T.A.:  I've had no problems with my Sigma wireless cadence sensor on my current bike and it wasn't a battery issue on the old bike...totally a function of a curved chainstay on that K2 road bike.)

What computer do you have.  I have the micro and the strada.  Plain and simple the sensor that came with the strada is pure junk and will give you a headache as long as you own it.  I can switch the sensor that came with the micro to either bike and it picks up like a champ.

My husband tucked something under the magnet to get the parts closer together and it's worked ever since.

This happened to me recently. The wire came loose and had been rubbing on the tire for a long time. It finally rubbed through and killed the cadence.

Yes, I'm a smart one.

That's probably not what is wrong with yours though.

This happened to me and it was that the magnet on the crank had slid out of position. Just nudge it back into place.  You'll be fine, kid.
