Subject: research study for women endurance athletes at UNC Hey all, I don't normally post much in here, but one of my friends in the exercise physiology department (MS student) is recruiting volunteers for research looking at the effects of estrogen concentration on the immune response to prolonged running. The results will help us to better understand how to keep women healthy and able to maintain their training regimens properly. To participate, you need to be: - healthy woman age 18-35 - normal menstrual cycle - have completed a half marathon or farther race in last year - currently training about 3 day / wk with 45 / min or more per session If you participate, you will get body composition assessed and a VO2max test. I know a fair number of you live around the triangle. This would be ideal for you as you will need to make a few trips in to a lab on the UNC campus. If you're interested, send me a pm and I'll give you the contact info for the person doing the research. Edited by dlb3830 2011-01-30 11:51 AM
