Comments: this was a training run for the sunmart fiddy so i started off doing a walk/run, walking for a few minutes at the aid stations but had to walk for 30+ minutes at mile 24ish because my vision was going, reached an aid station, loaded up on food and felt 100% better. then i continued the walk/run thing. ended up walking just over an hour total, and still kept a sub 10 min pace. yay me. felt real good except for the nutrition bonk. i usually eat a pb&j sandwich at most, if not all, aid stations and they didn't have that available so i didn't get the calories that i generally do during ultras. :( other than that it was a good run. What would you do differently?: supply my own pb&j and not bonk. i would also bring friends, running with fit and Q during these long races is WAY MORE fun than by myself. ![]() Post race
Warm down: put on another layer of clothing and drank hot cocoa. What limited your ability to perform faster: the frigid weather and the lack of peanut butter and jelly. Event comments: i'll be back to try and PR again. this was a PR by more than an hour. yay me. Last updated: 2006-11-11 12:00 AM
