Mouse House bound today....

Champion  10157    Alabama |  Subject: Mouse House bound today....Just wanted to ramble away some pre-race jitters..... My two kids and I will be flying to Orlando this afternoon for the Disney Marathon Sunday. (wife is burnt out on WDW) My training peaked out 2.5 weeks ago with a 20 miler. Then I went into taper mode and started eating like a pig and packed on about 10 lbs! Went skiing and got some good cross training but all but quit running for 2 weeks 'cept for a slow 4 miler this week. Oh well, that's all history now. There will be about 16,000 runners Sunday morning. I'm gonna try to beat about 1/2 of them. I guess that would make me the epitome of mediocrity! :-) Well, I don't think many (or any) 6'3" 275 lb men will be out in front of me! Oh well, the only person I am trying to beat is the man I was last year. Whatever happens, happens and fretting about it is not gonna change a thing.....I keep telling myself that but it just doesn't seem to sink in. :-) ~Mike

I'm in the same mind set as you, just there to beat myself from last year. And since this time last year I couldn't complete 1/4 mile without stopping, then I should be all set. |
