Don't see any race reports on the first Ironman Ohio 70.3. Anyone participate? What did you think? Thinking about registering for next year (as soon as it opens!),

A couple of my friends raced it and enjoyed it. Pretty flat and fast bike/run course. I'll get some more specific feedback and report back. I'm also thinking about racing it next year.

I'm also interested in doing it next year, but it doesn't look like they have a date for it yet.  Which makes me wonder if it's happening next year.

I'm 98% sure it is happening, I had read the article saying it was a multi-year contract with WTC (3, 5? can't recall). And the status is "opening soon".

I did this one - it was my first HIM.  Here's my race report.  I liked the race and would consider doing it again.  The swim was nice, the bike was mostly flat (a few hills in the last 10 miles or so) but we had some headwinds - probably left from the storm that came through the day before, and the run was hilly but partly shaded.  We got lucky with the weather though - the storm brought in cooler temps so it wasn't too hot, even on the run.  

I think the issue with next year is the date - this year it was the same weekend as move-in for Ohio Wesleyan University, which is where the T2/finish line was and I think they're hoping to avoid that for next year.  They apparently talked about moving it to July but I guess they haven't settled on a date yet.

Good job on the race Janet! Crazy that the twister was so close to the bikes.

Logistical question.

With the 2 transition areas T1 at the Swim Start, and T2/Finish at Selby stadium, how do you get your wetsuit/goggles over to the finish line?
