No, not looking for sympathy, just venting. I'm friggin' sick and tired of people I've known forever dying. It seems I've planted more friends than I've got alive. This is the fourth honest to goodness buddy that's died this year. Heart attacks, strokes, now brain tumor? Hell, I've got a buddy I went to Pre-School with who just had a brain tumor cut out and is going great.

Riggin' friggin'... gonna go find rocks to kick for a while.

Sucks.  I had a similar streak early this year where 4 people I knew had died.  2 were my age and died of cardiac issues.

I'm sorry for your loss.  Doesn't seem fair, does it.  It's just a reminder that no one will stay in this mortal world forever.

Give it to those rocks.  Sending you hugs.

Sorry for your loss Daniel and unfortunately I know how your feel. Last September I lost 3 friends/co-workers all in the same week and they were all way too young to die and all had young families. Very tragic indeed.

Sorry for your loss.  Definitely seems like the longer we live the more of these we see...I guess you can look at it like this...the price of being the lucky one to keep on living is that you have to keep saying goodbye to everyone else....

Wasn't this a underlying theme in the movie "Highlander?"

Anyway, sorry about your loss, Daniel. My friend's brother recently died and he wasn't too much older than me. Makes me get sort of depressed and introspective. Maybe I'll look for some rocks, too.

I'm sorry.  It's tough losing friends at such a young age.  My childhood best friend died last year at 46 from congestive heart failure leaving three kids, and I lost a high school buddy this year at age 47 to a heart attack.  Way too young, both of them.  It's why I do this tri stuff.  No guarantees, but it beats the alternative.

The longer I'm around the more I realize that this is going to happen one day, and I don't like the thought.  When that day does come, I'll probably go find some rocks to kick for a while too.
