Hello, my name is Mike. A friend of mine started training for the peachtree and decided to do a Tri in aug. That has motivated me and another one of our friends to start training for a Tri in may of next year. I just wanted to introduce my self since I am a noob at any sort of racing. I use to swim quite a bit and only ran long distance in the military. But I will need to pick your guys brains on some issues, especailly closer to next may. I am 6''2" and 260 lbs so I will need some advice on how a big guy should carry himself through the event. More to follow.

Welcome from a fellow peachstater.

How was your Peachtree Race? I absolutely loved it this year. Maybe it was just the fact that I actually trained for it this time, but it didn't seem as horrendous as in years past. I thought the weather was incredible and the spectators were out in record numbers.

Good luck with your triathlon training, you'll get hooked really fast.

Cheers

Motivated, because I am just starting out I am training for the one next may. I have a long way to go. And as others have mentioned I am a clydesdale that is never been out of the Barn. So I am going to train and having time to improve to at least make it through it first and then maybe start trying to be competitive... I like contact sports so this is a change for me... Nothing to hit or move save my arse...

to the other post. I actually did not do the Peachtree. My friends did and there improvement and talk of further training for the Tri in aug. has motivated me and made me decide to join you guys great ranks!!! So maybe see you ATL folks in May... I will be the big Cherry Red guy sporting a GT hat!
