Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: Rabobank Welcome to the Tour De France, Your team line up for this year is: Artemis Daremo disturbed275 enders shadow esc kn57 LazyMarathoner QueenZipp rcbert running4beer SteveyD
The Rabobank line up contains contender Denis Mechov the winner of this years Giro D'Italia who is attempting to achieve two grand tour wins in the same calendar year. The team also features accomplished sprinter Oscar Friere will be mixing it up the front in the flat stages. Denis Menchov will be supported by young upcoming Dutch GC hope for the future Robert Gesink who will be out this year to gain experience but you never know, would be fun to see the kid allowed up the road on some of the moutain stages.
Just a quick reminder that the challenge rules are posted in the original sign up thread but if there are any queries please let me know! Also... the one rule I need to remind you about is NO posting of information from the live Tour De France in team threads until AT LEAST 24 hours after it has occurred. This is to allow people to watch repeats or time delayed coverage without having their viewing destroyed by knowing the end result! Have a great July... no doubt I will pop in occassionally. Pro 4608 Brooklyn, NY | Subject: RE: Rabobank Oooh! I'm first! Most of you know me, I'm Kristin. Training for IMWI and have a couple other races coming up for fun. This was my first challenge after joining BT last summer so it's an anniversary of sorts. My goal looks low for now because this is a light bike week and I get my schedule every two weeks. I hope to increase it eventually. And on that note, I'm off to get Stage 1 in! |

I'm getting ready for my first ride of the challenge - a nice, boring trainer ride. It's a rainy morning and the only thing I hate more than riding on the trainer is riding in the rain. |

Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Rabobank Stage 1, 15 miles. Done. Windy as hell today. Since I'm going for a marathon double in October, most of my rides are gonna be short and recovery paced since running is going to be ramping up the mileage pretty quick. |

Expert 1058 Cambridge | Subject: RE: Rabobank good evening team. I'm steve, the crazy brit. My goal is a bit low because i aint entirely sure what i'm doing this month. I went to watch my cricket team today, as it was my turn to have a week out fo the team (or i was dropped, you decide) fun tims, i got about 7 miles when my crank fell off. i put it back on, did the nut up (i keep the tool for that always, i am forever having crank problems) and then it started falling off every mile. So in the end, 10 miles took me b est part of an hour. Way home i got bored and just cycled on a wonky crank, ruining the inside bhut it was pretty knackered already. Time to get a new one. just to ad dto it. i didn't use enough suncream and i'm sunburnt to shizzle so did about 1hour30 cycling / 20 miles |

Master 1817 Lafayette, IN | Subject: RE: Rabobank I managed a 45 minute trainer ride today for stage 1. In true Princess of Procrastination fashion, I've yet to set a goal. Maybe I should sit down with the work, travel, and training shedules and see what I can come up with. But first...food and caffeine. No work on an empty stomach! |

Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: RE: Rabobank Hey team! I'm Kristen (with an "e" - not to be confused with Kristin lazymarathoner...) and I generally pop up on threads about wine. I fancy myself one of the board's resident oenophile, but you may refer to me as "wino" - 'cause it's easier to say. But since it's 4th of July weekend, we've been drinking beer instead. So, I also find myself well versed on local microbrew stouts and porters. I'm doing a sprint on 7/19 that I'm ill trained for, because I've been a lazy slug for the last 2 months. I'm also training for the Falmouth Road Race in August and my first real Oly at the end of September (because my other Oly got turned into a du by a hurricane). And then on to a half-mary in November. (I like to run more than I like to ride, which is still more than I like to swim...as Jen & Judi can attest to.) So, anyway - as long as we have that out there... Stage 1 done, 17.7 hilly miles out in horse country. |

Also sounds alot like my swim motivation. Managed not to go to the pool for the entire month of June. Hoping I don't sink during my July sprint. |
