Pre-race routine:

Not much of a routine. I had a bowl of life cereal and some Gatorade about a hr pre race.
Event warmup:

jogged to packet pickup and then rode a easy mile to the start line.

Comments:

I had a good ride. This built a TON of confidence for the upcoming season. I ate well and did not bonk this time out, and I did not feel half dead at the finish line.
What would you do differently?:

Need to eat a bit more, maybe a piece of fruit and remember to drink. I REALLY need to work on hill repeats. This is absolutely my limiter on the bike.
Post race
Warm down:

Racked my bike and walked for about 10 minutes got a t-shirt and went to the truck to eat.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My climbing ability... Hands down no question. I have the endurance to ride forever, but hills kill me.

Performance: Good
Averaged 155, but peaked at 172BPM. I didn't know my hr could get that high while riding 2.3 MPH!
Wind: Some
Course: Course was great my winter training really paid off. This year I did NOT walk up Baker Hill, but there was a LONG line of people who were. surprisingly it wasn't much faster to ride, but I felt better knowing I made it to the top on my bike. This was the big let-down of my previous ride on this course. I am really happy I made it!

Great job, I can't imagine how difficult that big of a climb would be. I have 1 bridge and no hills.

Glad you made the ride and made those hills!

I rode it today too, went with a couple bike riding buddies. First time for all of us to ride the course. I'm glad that I did not really look at the course and grade details... Ignorance is bliss with hill after hill and those two at the end! Just to make things extra hard and get the most out training, I rode my fixed gear bike... Oh how much I wanted some gears and being able to coast down the hills towards the end!

Thanks everyone!

I'm gonna hit the hills like crazy now. I was happy to do better than last time, but I still have a lot of room to improve!

I am so thankful for BT and everything it has done for me and my family! You guys all rock!
