Subject: Research help/Trivia I need help

Way back in the late 70s and early 80s (i'm guessing) There was a female runner that was always featured in Runners World and other same type magazines.   What was interesting about her was she had very long blond hair and she had tremendously large calves (I think previously she had been into weight training or body building).     But she was a Runner and I think was a Sub 3 hour marathoner........Can't think of her name.  Last name was I think Czech or Eastern European..

She wasn't one of DDR/Russian steroid olympians.....so don't go there

So If anyone has a clue with a name ....it's driving me crazy not remembering her name.

Nope not the great Greta.  The runner I'm thinking of had long blond hair.  Had beautifully developed calves.....Not Mary Decker either...

Olasharski?  Onastaki?   Not Onizuka.    ARRRRRGGGGGGGG!!!

Only name I can think of is Suzy Hamilton.....but Hamilton is hardly Czech or Eastern European.

I've put out a thread for information  on their forums, haven't sent an e-mail to the editors yet.     Did get some infor from local library to search on their website on past issues of the Magazine.  Back to 1992.

1992 seems so long ago, so do the 1980s.

The only name I can think of (and I may be butchering it here): Jarmila Kratochvilova. I think she was (or is, for all I know) Czech, and there was a great poster of Mary Decker diving for the tape next to her at a World Championships (I think -- might have been Goodwill Games). I don't remember long blond hair, but she was definitely accused of steriod abuse (and she maintained that it was due to "progressive" weight training).
