Busted Iphone Screen.

My oldest son dropped his ipod and cracked the glass. After living with it broken for almost a year, it was getting worse. So I googled something like "glass repair ipod" and found a place in Pittsburgh near where I work that pretty much does nothing but fix broken screen glass. They were under $100. ubreakifix.com was their website... don't know if there is anything like that near you.

Google for iPhone repair places...most of them will do it for under $100.

You CAN buy all the parts to do it yourself on amazon for about $12.  I was able to accomplish it by watching a YouTube video, but it didn't come out very well...this is definitely an acquired skill.  After this semi-failed attempt to do it on my own I ended up bringing it to one of the repair places who had it looking brand new in no time.

Now, if you'd bought the protection package for your phone (from Apple) I think they'd fix it for about $50 twice in two years....

I have not used the service but I see shops on CL that specialize in fixing screens, charging ports, etc for cell phones, maybe give that a shot. Good luck.

Oh, this is just a weird parallel universe.  My wife dropped her HTC (P.O.S.) Android yesterday when she was going to look at a text I sent her and cracked the glass, too.  Additionally, you can't get into the phone and check things, so it functions to accept incoming calls and indicates it, but you can't answer or get in the screen.

I'm heading out after work today to get her a new phone.  I don't think the iPhones are in yet at U.S. Cellular, though, but, my wife probably wouldn't want it anyways since she doesn't like any bells and whistles like apps, Internet access, etc., just phone and text.

Call around to a few offbrand cellphone stores in town and ask them who does screen repair.  In Omaha there's probably a half a dozen places that will repair it for under $100 so I'm sure you easily have 100 choices.  Watch out for the ones on the strip.  lol

On a side note, I know the $200 is expensive, but I absolutely love apples policy on replacing phones and their apple care.

I've got a Droid Bionic and if I drop it in the toilet I'm out ~$600 to get a new one and my only option is to pay $10/mo. for insurance and then pay a $100 deductible to get it replaced.

To me, Apple has a viable self insurance that after 10 months pays for itself.  All three of our kids have iphones for this very reason. (oh, and so i can gps track them through icloud)

Or even check Groupon...had mine fixed for about 50$. its a little tricky tring to do it by yourself. Money well spent.

She actually drove away with it on the roof of the car.  One thing that DOES work is the "where is my Iphone" app!  She was able to track it on the Ipad and went right back to it in the street a couple hours later.

And no one took it that whole time?  That's amazing actually.
