Help Wanted!
No Pay! No Benefits! All the Vanilla HammerGel You Can Eat!

BT has run the aid station on the run course at the Mini-Mussel for the past few years and this year the tradition continues.
We're looking for a small medium huge group of people to help out. Have you volunteered at a race this year? No? Well here's that opportunity to cross it off of your to-do list, Sparky!

This is lots of fun because there are so many people doing their first tri at this race. It's really inspirational. You get to spend the morning with other BTers cheering on and helping out hundreds of athletes from all over the country. It doesn't take much time, about an hour and a half in the morning. You'll need to be there by 9:30am. The aid station is located at the 1 mile point on the run course, just south of the west end of Park Rd. MAP If you're doing the Musselman on Sunday (like me), this is a great way to get psyched up for your race. Or to get your mind off of the fact that you'll be doing a half-ironman in 24 hours.

If you can help out, please let me know so we'll have an idea of how many people we can expect. You can post here, send me a PM or send me an email.

Bring a friend! Kids/spouses/significant others/ insignificant others/third cousins twice removed are all welcome!

Believe it or not, I would be there, IF we had not just returned from a 5000 mile (round trip) vacation that included a race.  It might have been easier if one of us didn't have a broken collar bone too!  Maybe I can convince him to go next year.

What should we say when we hit the volunteer tent on Saturday?  "Um, I'm here to volly with a bunch of online folks..."? =) I'm cool with that though! Do you need our full names?

Subject: Mini-Mussel Aid Station Details

Mini-Mussel Details
The Mini-Mussel sprint aid station is a lot of fun because there are so many people doing their first tri that day. It's a blast and doesn't take much time, about an hour and a half in the morning. You'll need to be there by 9:30am. The aid station is located at the 1 mile point on the run course, just south of the west end of Park Rd. MAP

I'll be at the aid station site between 8:30-8:45. There will be a sun shade set up if it isn't too windy. I'll pick up the volunteer t-shirts and have them at the aid station, so you don't have to check in at the volunteer table. Just come to the aid station. There will be Dunkin Donuts coffee and donuts. If I'm in a good mood I might even share them.

If you're driving, pull into the park as if you're going to the race, but don't go through the entrance where you would pay to park. Instead, pull off to the right into the volunteer parking lot. There will be a sign that says "Volunteer parking". Then walk straight towards the lake and head right at the path. Follow this to the aid station.

The number of people who've committed to this for this year are a bit low at this point so if you can do it, it would be much appreciated! If you're doing the Musselman on Sunday, this is a great way to get psyched up for your race. Remember, without volunteers there would be no triathlons so here's your chance to help keep the sport going!

If anyone wants to get in touch with me about this, send me a PM and I'll send you my cell number.

We have super soakers too.  But I'm afraid of my overzealous kids....  We'll see if we bring them.

Thanks to all the volunteers this morning! Best aid station ever!

It was quite a race: The number 1 and number 2 Overall finishers were BTers!

Congrats to t3coach1 and docswim!

Many thanks to all who volunteered! I got a BIG lift heading through the aid station on the way out and (especially) back. Only wish you could have seen me stooped a few yards past the finish line, hurling up the fluids you so generously provided.

XOXO
