Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: Tour De France Bike Challenge - FINAL RESULTS!!! The action on the roads of France is all over and here its all over too! Unlike the action on the roads, everyone made their way to the end of the challenge, mostly rubber side down. So to start with CONGRATULATIONS to every single person that took up the challenge and stuck it through to the end of July…. Yay!! Of the 73 riders taking part, each rider on average completed at least 12 (11.7) stages AND achieved a total of 97.5% of their goal… very impressive J So… lots of warm fuzzies all around! Team Wrap Up: Astana Despite being removed from the Tour on the road, our very own bad boys turned out to be a lot of fun! Z-Dog has completed his longest bike mileage month to date since he started training and a few of the boys sneaked in their last rides on the last night before bed! If you want to know just how tough this team is, captain Tri3 called himself a slacker after riding 150miles in just 3 days, I’m scared of what full on would be!!! But to quote the captain himself when talking about his team “you all did a phenomenal job” Goal Stages: 77 Achieved Stages: 71 Percentage Achieved: 92.21%
Barloworld What can be said about this team that has probably already said it all themselves anyway???? First to get a rider to Paris, first team to hit Paris AND DMarkSwan even found time for a BarloBaby. (seriously congratulations and the pic is gorgeous) Well done on the massive team spirit and having the longest team thread of the challenge with a whopping 12 pages!!! Oh yeah and on getting everyone to Paris! Goal Stages: 80 Achieved Stages: 80 Percentage Achieved: 100%
Credit Agricole Can you smell that? Its cheese… that has been in the French sunshine for 3 weeks… mmm yummy But on a serious note, this team gets top marks for their truly original interpretation of their team identity when taking on this challenge! Congrats to Artemis for riding through a stress fracture (with docs ok of course), Naners is fighting illness and daman has had a tough month. Thanks to the WHOLE team for sticking with it through that challenge… welcome to Paris!!!! Goal Stages: 85 Achieved Stages: 76 Percentage Achieved: 89.41% Discovery Aaah Discovery… they did win it in France… so they must be seeing yellow! TexOma finished up the challenge with his longest ride ever, Bookend spent a week in yellow and Im assuming drdi survived emergency call. Congrats on your teams top step on the podium, and way to go in the challenge!!!! And as Josh_Kaptur pointed out… those aero helmets are sweeeeet Goal Stages: 91 Achieved Stages: 86 Percentage Achieved: 94.81%
Euskaltel Euskadi Definitely the brightest jerseys in the BT peloton, the team in orange made a massive third week push, when it really counts! While I fear gaiaserver may have been put off riding for a little bit following his massive 21 ride, tour specific training sessions, the rest of the team doesn’t seem to be suffering too many ill affects of a massive three weeks. Well done all of you – truly wonderful effort! Goal Stages: 98 Achieved Stages: 94 Percentage Achieved: 95.92%
Predictor Lotto Cadel made second step of the podium making team leader Casie (yes an Aussie) very very happy! (along with the rest of us Down Under) ScotinSeattle went searching for a baguette as soon as she got to Paris and almost all of the team made more than their goal rides! WOW Extra special mention to DeputyDawg who for medical reasons may not have quite made it home but stuck with the challenge in spite of it all refusing to withdraw J That’s true team spirit!!!! Goal Stages: 93 Achieved Stages: 87 Percentage Achieved: 93.55%
Saunier Duval Still very impressed with the massive 11 hour ride completed by soretaint, 204 miles in one day he has still continued to ride throughout the challenge. Bcozican educated all with the story of the young and old bull, goofyfooter used the challenge to get in gear and ell-in-or finished the challenge with a GREAT tri! Thanks to the yellow/gold and black team for taking part in the challenge I hope you enjoyed it! Goal Stages: 105 Achieved Stages: 103 Percentage Achieved: 98.10%
Team CSC This was the team with four umm… nuts (?) all going for 21 stages and I am very happy to report all 4 made it to Paris on time! CSC attracted some very entertaining men along the lines of our man in the pro team Dave Z. Jens, jcjsc00, Daremo and Chris Tree all had some classic moments. They kept all of our spirits up all of the way to Paris! Thanks for adopting me when I forgot to put myself on a team, and riding through to Paris! Goal Stages: 109 Achieved Stages: 109 Percentage Achieved: 100%
T-Mobile Cheered from the sidelines by Gina76’s girls (Chihuahuas – I hope I have that right) appropriately dressed in pink T-Mobile achieved perfect pacing to get their entire tea to Paris. Congratulations!!!! And… if you haven’t signed up yet… T-Mobile member devouahy has started the August challenge.. so GO GO GO! Goal Stages: 91 Achieved Stages: 91 Percentage Achieved: 100%
Agritubel Wildcard entry Agritubel won he ‘black and blue jersey’ (their words) as home to a selection of injured riders. Team Leader Breezy has overcome her injury but the rest are still battling through and training regardless… true strength Congrats on taking on the challenge and making it to Paris in spite of everything, true hard men… I love it!!!! Goal Stages: 48 Achieved Stages: 46 Percentage Achieved: 95.83%
Overall results are as follows: 1) Barloworld/T-Mobile/Team CSC 2) Saunier Duval 3) Euskaltel Euskadi 4) Agritubel 5) Discovery 6) Predictor Lotto 7) Astana 8) Credit Agricole A huge thanks from me to EVERYONE who took on the challenge, its been a lot of fun and very inspiration reading all of your successes… Congratulations… see you in France next year. And…. Keep Riding!! Vive Le Tour! Cat |

Expert 626 Las Vegas, NV | Subject: RE: Tour De France Bike Challenge - FINAL RESULTS!!! Thanks Cat for this awesome performance you did on this challenge. Including the minute by minute log of the race. Due to work and training sked, you allowed me to save some money and cancell the vs. channel that i was paying for to watch the tour. Your details were so great, that who really needed to watch it live, since your blog had a better understanding anyway. Thanks again for also improving my bike speed and distance, and keeping us forcus on what was needed most. Improve our bike riding skills. Cheers!! and lokking forward to next years challenge. Thanks again. |
