Subject: How many tan lines do you have?
Let's see I have one from my watch, one from my hrm strap, one from my bike shorts, one from my running shorts, one from my sleeveless singlet, one from my short sleeve cycling jersey, and one from my shoes/socks.  I guess that's 7 for me.  Wow, I must be good for a giggle or two at the pool.

Oh, and before you go asking for pics, I am a mildly overweight, slightly balding, middle-aged man.Undecided

You've not seen my buttocks ... and in contrast to the dark ... I glow like a vampire!!! 

I thought those buttocks would have an advertisement covering up all that white by now?

Right now, everything is pretty uniformly pasty white.  Saturday's ride did put a little color on my arms (it was raining when I left with a forecast for clouds/scattered showers.  It cleared off about an hour into the 5-hour ride. )

Lines?  By the end of the summer it'll be the short-sleeve jersey line on each arm, cycling glove lines on the wrist and fingers, watch lines, the lines around my neck, maybe a hint of tan lines from the sunglasses and then we move towards the legs.  Shorts, bike shorts, socks, shoes.  I'll probably have a line from my sandles too.

I'm in the pasty white camp. I prefer to call it the Scottish tan. I've been hoping since I was eight years old that all my freckles would one day converge and I'd have the darkest tan ever. *sigh*

I used to get good ones, though - a line from my braid going straight down my back. The famous soccer lines from long shorts and high socks. Riding gives the gloves line. I'll get little lines on the sides of my face from my glasses.

Saw a seriously funny one last night, though - went rock climbing with a friend, and while belaying him noticed he had very sharp, distinct lines about halfway up his calf (so the lower half of his leg was white, the upper sunburnt). Skiers will get the same line, but I knew he doesn't ski. Turns out he'd gone climbing in Tuckerman's Ravine on Mt. Washington last weekend with his plastic boots on, but was so hot he was just in shorts. Classic!
