Who tells someone to turn down the beatles, and I'm too busy finishing my basement.

But more seriously, I think he might be able to make progress on guns.  He got stuff done in Maine, they like guns there.

Admittedly, I have not looked at all at his platform.  I will.

I'm 30, and I'm not sold on him.  I don't see how he's going to be able to do everything he wants to do without costing tax payers in the long run.

I also think he has zero chance of beating Hillary for the nomination.

I've been around awhile (maybe not quite as long as LB...) but odds are high that any candidate will cost tax payers in the long run :P

Welcome to the 2 party system in the U.S.

He understands that he has more in common with Democrats than Republicans, therefore running as a 3rd party candidate would hurt the Democrats.

The Democrats are doing their best to follow the winning ways of the Republican Party the past 8 years by finding an old white guy to nominate.  lol (sorry, couldn't resist)

I think the Republicans would relish Bernie getting the not.  He's so far out in left field (politically speaking) that he makes Obama look like Ted Cruz.  The nation as a whole has not been very pleased with the hardline agenda of Obama the past 8 years, so I'm going to say it's pretty much a guarantee that they won't go further to the left.
I feel the Democrats are in real trouble this time around because the shoe in Hillary seems to be losing support by the day.  I personally feel Biden (if he decides to run) will be the favorite if/when Hillary completely falls off.  If Hillary manages to squeak out the nod, she's going to have a real tough time in this uncharted political climate of the "anti-establishment".

Biden, IMO, just doesn't have enough support outside of the Northeast... I can't see him winning a national election.  Gore, maybe, but he's not interested.

We all know who will win the Dem nomination!

I'd take Bernie all day long over Hillary.

I honestly feel sorry for him because I feel he represents the Democrats better and if the Clinton controlled media weren't in his way he would be doing much better in the polls.

I saw his speech the other day where he was bashing the media for getting no coverage at all and said something to the effect of "what do i have to do make a statement that I want to throw all the muslims out of the country to get on the news"

Sadly, he probably does have to go the Trump route if he wants to get any cycles.

Agree Renee, jobs and the economy are way up on my list along with getting the corruption and waste out of our government.

Funny story on Sanders.  My middle son who is a freshman at Iowa State University was talking to me a week or two ago and mentioned the the really likes Sanders and wondered what I thought of him.  My son is by far the most conservative of any of my kids, so I asked him if he realized he was a very liberal Democrat and he had this confused look on his face.  lol

Believe it or not, I truly want my kids to come to their own conclusions so I went to his website and went through most of his positions and there were things that both of us liked and things that both of us didn't like, so it was a fun experience for him.

The part that I thought was funny was how Sanders is appealing to younger kids and doing it in a way that he's not a "Democrat", he's just a man on a mission and very passionate about it.  I disagree with him on several key issues, but I genuinely like the guy.

Moderately off topic, but I noticed in the debate last night that no one mentioned Sanders despite bringing up Obama and Hillary ad naseum.  Poor guy is treated like he's not even in the race.

Yeah, I read an article last night about Trumps lead over the next highest competitor as being substantially higher than Hillary's over Bernie, but the Democratic race is "done and over" while the Republican race is wide open according to the media.

I think if Bernie got 1/10 of the coverage Trump does he'd be giving Hillary a run for her money.
