I am feeling very uncreative at the moment, so hopefully the BT community can help me.  We will be camping this weekend with other members of our bike team.  One guy is turning 49, and his girlfriend is baking a cake to celebrate his birthday.  I am doing a triathlon on Sunday and hubby and others are doing the mountain bike race on Monday.

I want to do a little joke gift for him.  I could do something to slow him down like lead weights, or maybe something goofy to decorate his bike - tassels for the handlebars.  Any fresh ideas?

Help me out here!

Well, that is a fresh idea!  I just found out that another team member is also having a birthday this weekend.  So now the biker birthday party has expanded.  I guess they could share the sheep?  Any other ideas?

For my mountain-biking cousin's birthday a few years ago, his friends each gave him all the bike accessories he would need - the flowered basket, the bell AND the horn, the handlebar tassels, the little colored straws that go on the spokes, the tall orange flag, flame stickers, etc. I don't think you can go wrong with cool (for a seven year old) bike accessories like that.

Being that they are turning 49 try a gift package with a bottle of geritol, maybe some metamucil, depends adult diapers, tylenol arthritis formula, and if you know someone who has one, and doesn't need it, a walker. Viagra, or a bottle that you put a viagra sticker on with green M&M'S. Anyways have fun.

You guys are killing me! Hubby turns 40 next May, and I will use what I've learned here to help him "celebrate."

Just as a follow-up, we celebrated two bike team member's birthdays on Sunday.  This was the night before a big race.  For one guy (turning 43) we got him a bottle of red wine and some shot blocks.  We joked about washing down the shot blocks with the wine, and we made the bottle fit in his bottle cage.  Total cost = $10

For the other guy who turned 49 (last year in current age category), we got him some downhill mtb race shorts.  These are the type that have hip padding in them.  We joked about him breaking a hip 'cuz he is getting so old.  We also threw in a package of shot blocks.  Total cost of $5 (we found the shorts on a bargain rack at a surplus/salvage store.)

A few good laughs all around.

Thanks for all the great ideas!

Turning 49?  This is easy...

just bake a cake and mark it up with "Happy 50th Birthday!".  Let the fun begin! (We did this for my sister on her 29th... called it her 30th).  Good stuff.
