Ride Description
We are doing the Roswell Ride on Tuesday 6pm leaving from the Roswell Area Park upper parking lot.  Starting at Roswell Area Park we ride through Historic Downtown Roswell.  We then take a few good hills followed by a ride down Riverside along the Chattahoochee, with a lot of good hills a long the way back to the finish.  See the map below for the full route and elevation profile.

A & B Group
We usually break into an A and a B group.  I lead the B group and the A group is led by whatever fast people show up.  The A group is not no drop.  If you get dropped by the A group and don't know the route, stop, consider yourself in the B group, and we will be along shortly...  Lately the A group has been doing a longer route of 25-30 miles.

Don't forget your running shoes and Taco Mac Passport!
We do a short 1.5 - 3 mile run around RAP after the ride, before heading up to Taco Mac for some well earned refreshment. We usually arrive at Taco Mac around 8:15pm and it's located at 685 Crossville Rd in Roswell, GA.

Weather Guideline
It's currently forecasted to be a partly cloudy and 87 degrees.  Should make for nice riding weather.

No Drop
The B group is a No Drop ride in case any of you want to ride but are not sure of yourself.

If you think biking the 22 mile Roswell Ride is challenging, try swimming it...
Instead of biking 22 miles, imagine swimming almost that distance in the ocean over nine hours. Determination, Skill and a Will of Steel Jen Schumacher Completes her Swim  I did the same crossing over to Catalina in a 55 foot boat, there were some good sized waves, and I got seasick.  Swimming across is definitely an achievement.

Challenge the hills of Roswell every Tuesday
Do a few extra laps along Riverside if you are preparing for the true Augusta experience.
It has the flats and is along the River, just no scenic Savannah River Nuclear plant to ride by...

Hope to see you there!
Justin

If it was really Dr. Suess it would sound more like this:  One little brown dog says GO, one little brown dog says NO.

I'll be there.

Weather Update
I am hoping the weather is going to hold out...

According to
weather.com we have a 60% chance of rain this evening at 6pm.
If it does rain, I'll be running several 1.5 mile laps of Roswell Area Park, instead of riding.  You are welcome to join me on the run or ride in the rain with  some other hearty individuals from the group...  If we have thunderstorms, I'll be heading to Taco Mac early.  Yesterday afternoon weather.com was forecasting 0% chance of rain and it was raining pretty hard.  I'm starting to lose faith in the weather.com forecasts and hope it stays dry for our ride tonight!

See you at 6pm,
Justin

Yikes, it is looking pretty bad over here, very dark right now. I wish I could run with you, but I am still trying to rehab my left heel and shake the Plantar's that making it painful to run.

You know my theory on rain, bicycles and rush hour cars - so I'm out if it continues like this. I will be at the Roswell Thursday night ride if anyone wants to make up the missed ride there.

Justin - you crack me up.  You're starting to lose faith in weather.com - I lost that a long time ago, they are never right!

Anyway, I'm whimping out unless the rain stops soon.  I've already ridden in the rain two times in the last week, and we all know what happened when I rode a few weeks ago in the rain... my hospital bill / ambulance ride / ER doctor bill / etc. is over $1000 so far (yes that's my portion, insurance has already paid their part).  Add on a new $175 helmet, and I probably better stay out of the rain tonight!  Be careful for anyone that goes.  Those roads are slippery!

I'm in for the running if it is raining at 6.  Someone has to make sure Justin doesn't cheat on the laps but I'll be doing two at the most so someone will have to take over from there.

Looks like the rain has stopped and the roads are relatively dry so Felix, Katie, Stephanie, and I are going to be riding!

Karen,
The first time I started to doubt the weather.com forecast was the day it was raining and you had your accident, it said there was a 0 % chance of precipitation at 6pm that evening...  Not sure what 0% means to them, but it means something different to me.

Katie,
If your wearing your GPS recording your actual distance, it's not cheating, it's scouting for an improved route...

Justin

It was nice seeing the pack for the last few miles of my ride.  I was pretty tired by the time I saw alla y'all.

The weather ended up being great, though a little humid.  It was a nice, hard ride.
