They should cancel the Dunk Off or get exciting players we KNOW!  I remember when I was younger I could not wait for the dunk off! I did not even watch the entire thing this year.

Thank you.

When I was in HS and college, I could not WAIT for the all-star game and dunk contest.  (Jorden and Dominique days)  Even the Dee Brown and Sky Walker days grabbed my attention...

Now?  I don't even know the guys.

This year, spent exactly 0 seconds watching the NBA coverage (mostly due to the Olympics).

Have them use a medicine ball (there is a story behind that comment).

ALSO,  I am SICK of all the props.  That used to be sort of cool.  Now it's flat out annoying.

IMO the last good one was in 2000 with Vince Carter.

At last years Dunk Contest, I remember LeBron James saying he was definately going to enter!
Not sure what happened to that!

Only part I liked on the contest was Barkley being very blunt, and while they were waiting for the text vote totals, barkely said "Maybe nobody will win!"

I agree, the dunk contest needs to go.  I saw the hilights and the guy who won has 6 "in game dunks".  That is crazy.

As for Lebron goes, unless you get Kobe and maybe Jordan 10 years ago to compete it would not be fair.  Lebron would wins hands down just from crowd reaction so what would the point be.

If LeBron entered, other stars would enter.

It actually looked like he ate a gel before his dunk.  I've always been a little surprised Gatorade doesn't make a gel, it seems like they would have copied the idea by this point.

I go to quite a few Mavericks games,  when the cav's visited Lebron had a few great dunks in warm up, but it seems to me the crowd has more fun watching when the players come out early and are playing horse or shooting from half court..

Crap !!! thats it..  they could have a horse or a half court shooting game that more people would enjoy then the dunk contest.  Unless they raise the rim after each round to see who can dunk on the highest rim..

It would be fun to see Howard and LeBron try for the highest dunk.

I don't really watch basketball but that was comment was pretty funny especially since it looked like he air balled it (though it was cut off at the end).

They already have a H0RSE contest, Dwight Howard dunked at 12 feet, they're required to have a team mate help on at least one dunk, and there's already a 'team' shooting competition that involves an NBA player, a WNBA player, and a former player that involves a half court shot.  There's also the skills competition for those that complain that they don't play fundamental basketball anymore.
Bottom line: it's all been done before.  Until someone makes change off the top of the backboard (rumored but never confirmed) there likely won't be any 'new' dunks.

totally forgot they added HORSE last year,, I think Durant won it both times,  Dwight dunked at 12 ft but I still think it would be fun to see how many can dunk at 12ft, then 12ft 6in,  and keep increasing it.
the team competion sucks, the NBA keeps trying to force the WNBA on the world ,, it's not working

The gel he ate was from Gatorade. Where he got it, I don't know.
