I am so devastated!  I have been so excited about doing St A's with TNT. I went to the rah rah intro meeting tonight only to be told that there are no more slots for the race left in WI!  There were only 7 to begin with and they all went to other cities whose info meetings were earlier.

There is a slight chance one of those 7 people will bail or get hurt (terrible to hope for such a thing, but as long as it's not a Bter, well, I think I am hoping)

The other possibility is that WI will send a group to Memphis in May.  Which, of course, is NOT FREAKING StA'S WITH THE THE BT GANG!

So I am going up to my room to sulk and pout.  Damn. I so easily could have registered myself, in fact I was even on line the morning everyone was scrambling and chatting to get in.  But no, I had to go and be all volunteertistic and noble, and now I am SOL. (resuming pout)

Poss, come on down anyway!  Jeff (F150mco) and I are planning to get drunk and eat burritos while  we cheer on the other BT'ers actually doing the race.  We may even convince Jeff to wear his Speedo to help inspire Renee.   There is also the possibility of drunkeness and debauchcery a great party after the race!

Hey Possum.  Do you know that you can be adopted by another TNT chapter?  Ask your local LLS staff about the possibility of being adopted by a chapter that has reserved slots for this race.  Just a thought.

Why don't you sign up for a New England event...like Mooseman or Timberman and come visit all of us. What can we do to sweeten the deal for you?

Wait...you just now went to an info meeting for St. A's? Our meetings (here in backwater Augusta) were back in October and we've been training now for more than two months. Weird.

You could still do the Meek & Mighty race the day before.

Ooooorrrrrr...you could do the Country Music Marathon or Half with TNT instead. I know at least one BTer who'll be there. Not gonna tell you who it is, though.

Hey Possum- surprisingly a lot of people don't meet their fundraising commitmments or might get injured and slots become available.  See if you can get on a waiting list maybe??

OK OK, I am a big baby. A drama queen. A **** for attention. A selfish prig.

But thanks y'all. There are many bright sides and alternative solutions to this situation which you have been so kind to point out. My favorite, of course, is the reminder that so many of my brethren end up dead on a highway wearing those humiliating yellow stripes. One silly missed triathlon is nothing compared to that, or say, to Leukemia....

So either I'll get in or I won;t. And if I don;t, I'll do Memphis.  Peace out friends. I am so embarrassed that I was such a snarly whiner these past few days.  Thanks for running me over, TW!
