Birth of the Hydropacer

Overwhelmed by counting laps, regulating swim pace, and simultaneously concentrating on his stroke, not to mention attempting to properly evaluate and customize his workouts, Chip Beard was determined to find a solution to his swim training needs. Hydropacer was the answer and Chip quickly assembled a team to make it a reality. Several working prototypes have been tested and proven with athletes of all levels across the United Sates. Now Chip needs your help to bring his creation to the masses and help every swimmer reach their full potential.
The Hydropacer

The HydroPacer is a portable Smart Phone controlled LED swim trainer that guides you through your swim workouts. All you need to do is follow the lights to maximize your workouts and bring you to 100% of your swimming ability! You can choose from a library of workouts, let the Hydropacer choose for you, or easily build your own workouts.

Workout Options Explained

1) Choose from the Swim Libraries

Hydropacer is currently working with professional coaches and athletes, building a huge library of workouts to bring you top shelf training options. The same training that brought athletes to world records, national titles and more! These workouts will be available on our website and on itunes.

2) Intelligent Virtual Coaching

The HydroPacer is a complete coaching system. Like a good swim coach, the HydroPacer identifies your swim fitness and suggests the best workouts for you. You'll begin by performing a speed test set and entering the results into the Smart Phone App. Using a proven algorithm developed by elite coaches the HydroPacer will identifiy what types of workouts make sense for you, matching the library of workouts to your specific needs. Simply play the prescribed workout and follow the lights! No more counting laps, no more looking at your watch, no more guess work! Best of all, get the peace of mind that comes with knowing you're using your body’s correct energy system and targeting your limiters to maximize your results! You'll retest every four to six weeks to chart your growth and get new workouts designed to take you to the next level. This means much faster growth to your maximum potential!

3) Build Your Own Workouts

Build and save custom workouts and create your own libraries. This allows you to make sets as simple or complex as you need. You can easily enter negative splits, descending and ascending sets, repeats, or even put in world record times to see if you can keep up!
Hydropacer: The Reel Deal

The Hydropacer consists of 42 super bright led's spaced evenly along a waterproof cable and can be used in 25 meter or 25 yard pools. The cable is permanently connected to a cable reel, dubbed the SmartReel. The SmartReel uses Bluetooth 4.0 to communicate wirelessly with your smart phone and then controls the led's accordingly.

Truly Portable

We'd be remiss if we didn't mention one of our favorite things about the Hydropacer, how convenient it is. The Hydropacer is roughly 8" square and can be picked up by any one of 4 handles, so transport is super easy. It also only takes about a minute and a half to install in a pool and under a minute to uninstall, so we never hesitate to take it with us for even a quick workout.
