Comments: The rolling start helps so much with my anxiety. I never felt like i was 'at risk' and it was just smooth and easy. What would you do differently?: Not much. Transition 1
Comments: Pretty fast for me. Got my ass out of the water and up the long jog to the bike pretty quickly. Sat and put the shoes on and socks and kept moving. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Almost held 20 mph, which was a super secret goal. 19.9 is very close. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/2749734252;AP=209; NP=224; IF=0.95. Perhaps my FTP is closer to 240?? What would you do differently?: Nothing at all. Transition 2
Comments: WTF! How in the hell do people do this so fast?? What would you do differently?: Move faster, of course. Run
Comments: Running at Quassy is always hard. That friggin hill gets longer every time I run it. How in the hell do people up their pace at the end like that?? I need to do much more hill training...with pace. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/2749794305 What would you do differently?: run a bit faster Post race
Warm down: Really wanted to just take a shower and get out of dodge. It was a long day for me. Very disappointed to hear that the awards were postponed multiple times and didn't even happen, so I never got to stand on the podium (for the second time...well...l still have done it only once...) I My award will be 'sent in the mail'. Oh, great. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training volume Event comments: https://racesonline.com/events/revolution3-quassy-half-olympic-tri/r... I just love the Rev 3! A special place in my heart being my first tri (the HIM in 2012) and multiple 'full revolution' finishes. Too bad that is no longer an option, but you never know. I'm pretty sure the logistics of having both races together was what messed up the awards/timing, but I still love the race. Last updated: 2017-11-04 12:00 AM

Left to drive to Quassy at 11am to get to race registration early enough. Remembered my ID/USAT card, which I often forget. Goofed on the swim practice as it was 10-12 not 10-2. Oops. Drove the bike course first to check out the hills. Had Denise with me and that is always better for me as her support and help mean the world to me. Made it to registration and checked in. Got #123, the universal number on everyone's packet! Must be lucky, I'm told. Checked in the bike and covered it with plastic over the bars and the seat cover. Drove to the Courtyard Marriot, only 7 miles away for check in to the hotel and dinner IN. Chilled for a bit and checked bags and lists. Bed early at 8:30-yes, I'm old.
Up early at T-2.5 hours=4am. Ate my usual prerace breakfast: Boost, RK treat Pop Tart, G2, coffee. Shower and BR. Dress to be race ready. Body marking and body glide. Pack transition bag and left for venue by 5am-Arrived at 5:20am. set up transition towel. Calibrated Garmins. Pump/lube tires and put on chilled drink. Went to the practice swim on time for a change.
