Subject: RE: Splash and Dash this Saturday Tempe Towne Lakemoto_mort - 2008-09-13 1:36 PM I did okay I guess. The swim was a lot more intense than I thought it would be. I was running into people and being ran into constantly it seemed. I really didn't feel like I could get into a good rythm. I finished the swim in 20:11. I put on my shoes and took about a minute in transition. On the start of the run I started to get a cramp in my calf. I was thinking this could be the end. I tried to run a little easy at first and luckily it never fully cramped. I finished the run in 12:32. My total time on my watch was 33:37. I was hoping for a litte faster, but that was okay. I am glad today wasn't Nathans, because I didn't feel as good as I have been. I hear ya, this was my first multisport event and while I had fun and thought I did ok, it could have been better. I got out of the watter in 17:44 and took 1:25 in transition and finished the run in just over 15 minutes and finished in just over 34 minutes. If you were wearing an FCA tri suit I think I saw you pass me, was it was black and yellow? I started the swim in the front and only had to put up with kicking and elbowing for a few minutes. I felt decent on the swim but not great. When I started the run I had a lot of water in my stomach and it took a little while to get going. IDK how to prevent that but it makes me sick (and probably will) that I swallowed so much of that dirty lake water. I'm excited for Nathan's next week and hope to do better in transition and on the run. This sport definitely takes time to get good at and each race is a new experience. I'm doing the SnD in October just before SOMA so we'll see if I can't improve a little before then. |
