Hey - how about that. I found out where to start the thread for the race!

Edit 1: I didn't know they'd put this in the Kansas forum... where there's ALREADY a thread for the race! This is the thread that people will see when they go to the RaceLink and click on 2008 as shown here.

Edit 2: You should also see in your training logs a little thing pictured in #2.

I emailed the race director last week concerning the specators ability to move from transition area to "the cross" of the bike route and back to transition, still no answer. Also asked about parking in the event specators would like to arrive closer to start time and again no answer.

Anyone know anything about this stuff?

I don't, but a couple of guys from the race seem to very attentive to any questions regarding the race over on Slowtwtich, may have better luck over there.

I was going to travel in on Friday June 13th. I plan on driving up my utility van and want to park it, I'm camping at the lake. Does anyone know if there's a shuttle that will run between the Lake and Lawrence? It would be an inconvience to pull up camp every time I went to town. If no shuttle, does anyone have any suggestions?

Can someone ask about this tomorrow if you're going to the one day camp? The RD is supposed to be there!

Make friends with your fellow campers, we are for the most part a pretty nice group of people.

I'm right there with ya! The only thing that makes me NOT want to do it right now is the fact that we can train for 4 more weeks for that bike course!

That's for sure. I know I can use some more sessions on the bike in some hills!

From the RD last week on KC Multisport Message Board:

http://kcmultisport.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_joomlaboard&Itemid=38&func=view&id=483&catid=6

I don't have the time to put everything on here but please wait til the spectator's guide comes out. Everything will work out just fine. Spectators will have up til 0900 to enter and then after 1215 to get into the park.

Please wait for the eblast to come out. Everything should be ideal.

Anybody need a hotel room? We're giving ours up and camping to avoid any travel- or parking-related problems that may or may not arise. It's at the Holiday Inn in Lawrence at $89 a night.

Regarding the hills..... What gearing do you have on your bike? I have a 39/54 chainring with a 12/27 cassette. Think that's OK?

Tony - do you have a room reserved for Sunday night? My wife just got confirmation TODAY that she can have Monday off so we're scrounging around...

I don't train w/ power but if you have trained on a course in Omaha or Olathe area that would be comparable....
I have a 52/42 w/ 12*25, avg. about 18mph on IMKS course on May 4, got out of the saddle a few times and a few other times to relieve my butt.

12/25 would be more than adequate on the rear.... 12/27 is what you use when you go over the Rockies...

Anyone had a chance to do the new running course? Compared to the old one?

Edited to add: Looks like a couple of 75 footers....3 loops = 6
