Subject: Thanks for the inspiration!Yesterday I completed my first tri! It was an awesome race with only one real snafu (timing chip came off in my wetsuit so I show a DNF officially but I know I finished so who cares, I'm not competing for podium that's for sure! ). I felt so confident all day with what I was doing and really felt almost no nerves, just pure excitement. I attribute that to all of the information I gathered here and knowing exactly what my plan was every step of the way based on the info here. So, thank you to everyone here for being there for me as I raced yesterday. In this process I've lost 50 pounds (with more to go but it's progress ), made my life 1000 times better, and found a spirit within me that I didn't know existed. Here's a little video of my day. The song was one I'd never heard until I was driving to the race yesterday morning and I found it VERY fitting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwWZocAbkqE BTW - I swore I wouldn't post one of these first tri threads but I just can't help myself I am still on cloud nine and don't expect to come down anytime soon. Well, maybe next week post surgery when my doc reminds me I can't exercise for 3 weeks. |
