No matter how experience I feel with working on my bike I always wind up with markings of my cassette on my forearm somewhere. I typically always get gear marks on my shorts/pants i wear while I carry my bike upstairs. I have to carry it on the inside so it doesn't scuff up the wall as I turn the corners. |

I read somewhere that this is a sign of a rookie as they don't yet know how to do regular bike maintenance and keep things clean (me). Glad to know I'm not alone, though.  |

Amongst roadies, this is a MAJOR faux pas. As much as Triathletes are concerned with their gear, roadies are concerned with their 'look'. |

Of course it really doesn't matter how you look and much of this is said in jest. I love to play both sides here... snobby roadies and geeky triathletes. I have a foot in both camps.
