I'm going to buy a pair of tri shorts for some sprints this fall but there are a lot of different brands/styles. So I'm wondering if anybody has a favorite kind......?

You're probably going to get as many answers as there are brands.

I'm partial to my TYR tri-shorts.  Overall, I'd just say that if you're ordering them online, make sure there is a good return policy in case you get them and they don't fit right.

I've not heard of any particular brand or style being "bad", so you'll probably be OK with anything as long as it fits properly.

I like Tyr also have have quite a few shorts, singlets and a Tri Suit from them.

More recently, I have been really liking 2XU (Two Times You) and have a wetuit, Tri Suit and several pairs of their compression shorts and arm warmers. Really great well made stuff.

I am about ready to spring for another wetsuit and will probably end up with another 2XU.

mine are kiwami! (http://www.kiwami.fr/)

I've tried before craft, 2XU, zoot, orca and TYR but Kiwami tops them all. They just are very comfortable for racing.

What? That's an unbiased opinion.

This will be an interesting thread to see the all different responses.

I agree with the post above..doubtful there are any "bad" brands...its all personal. Certain brands fit people better than others.

I personally like ZOOT and TYR. I have ZOOT tri-shorts and a TYR tri-suit. I like them both very much. I treat my tri-shorts horribly...just throw them in the wash, wear them in the pool, etc. and they have held up great over the past 1.5+ years. The tri-suit...I baby that thing. Hand wash it, etc. And it also does fine...but the ZOOTs seem to be fine no matter what I do to them.

I'm a big fan of the DeSoto Forza shorts.  Good compression and comfort.

Plus, whenever I wear out the inseam (at least once per season per pair of shorts), I ship them back and DeSoto repairs them for free.

I've also done a lot of training with the Oomph.  Debating on Oomph v DeSoto for IMKY this month.

Since I only have two pair of Sugoi, that gets my vote.  Both of my shorts are from Team Javelin.

I've been training in DeSoto Forza shorts for IM Louisville this whole season and love them.  I had no idea they had that kind of service.  That's awesome.

I've had a pair of basic Sugoi's (not bad), a pair of Orca's (good but not enough support for the boys) and am currently using 2XU's which I absolutely love love love. They're so cozy I've used them on 7+ hour rides with no problems.

Another vote for the OOMph's here. The longer the ride the better they are.

I normally wear Tyr but I just started wearing the DeSoto Carerra. For training rides, the Desoto rules but I still race in the Tyr shorts. Not to be a hater, but the LG shorts are terrible....

Zoot (cha-ching) and DeSoto. I like everything about DeSoto except the fact that they don't have leg grippers. To be fair, Emelio will add leg grippers if you REALLY want them (I think he said $15 each, but check me on that). Zoots are a close one -- I like the leg grippers and fit, I just wish the pad were slightly larger.

I just bought a pair of DeSoto tri shorts... good info to know that they will repair the shorts for me! They are really different than what I had been wearing (Specialized). I like the DeSoto because they are more comfortable for swimming and running, but I like the leg grippers on my Specialized tri shorts.

For a top, I just bought a Zoot tri top which I completely love. I fully intend to buy another in the exact same style. It works great for all three events and many times I wear it for just running because it is so comfortable.

I have the Desoto Carrera Tri shorts and they are great! Big upgrade over cycling shorts, IMO. The padding could be a little thicker, I guess, but a big fan, nonetheless.

I also wasn't aware that Desoto provided that service...
