For the Aussies its 11am tomorrow and Thursday... no idea what is being shown by Channel 7 but hopefully by that time it should be just up against heats in the athletics et so fingers crossed for some good coverage (early lunch time at work for me!)

Or mind-numbingly boring--for most of the population.

Heh heh. If I could only find to watch the event when I am swimming, I think it will make me swim longer.

Awesome Chris, thanks for the tip

I watched the men's Tri this morning and I agree, if the in the water coverage is even half as good, it will be a great event to watch.

ok I'll have to settle for the live commentary to learn :)  The way the fuel at the aid stations is freaking cool and those gals can make swimming so easy. The lead british couple has a nice long stroke and a light 2 beat flutter kick, they also seem to look up to navigate every 10-15 strokes deoending on where they are on the course. very interesting!

Yeah, that's pretty cool with the 'water stops.'

They are moving MUCH faster than I expected, and staying much tighter together than I expected.

It looks like the leaders aren't even kicking! How do they do that? All arms?

This is so cool Smile

They were kicking a lot more before- they are just tired now.

Could we please have turn buoys like that in tris (especially Ironmans)?  That would make sure that people don't stop in the middle of the turns...

it would also help if most triathletes learn how to swim

The Pacific Open Water Challenge in Long Beach, CA is going to be a stop on the FINA 10K world cup tour next year.  Only other US site is Manhattan

WOW, watched parts of this before work this morning.  All I can say is BRAVO.  That's some impressive swimming right there.  I hope this sticks around as an Olympic sport for a very long time.
