The Original  7834      Raleigh/Durham |  Subject: Lane's 1,000th PostIn case ya'll don't pay attention, Lane is nearing his 1,00th post. Since he's a little shy when it comes to public speeches and sufferes from a severe case of "writer's block" I have generously offered to write his speech. No Bt'er should go without a 1,000th post speech. So here goes- Lane speaking: As I get closer and closer to my 1,00th post I realize this is a very special moment that I will cherish forever. A lot of you may wonder- Lane, why are you taking so long to get those last 3 posts? Well, I will only reach my 1,00th post once, and I want to make sure that I reach it at the best time on the most appropraite thread. I don't want to be ollipio and waste my 1,00th on an everday, "normal" response. I want to go into my new star status with a bang. As I look back on my history on BT I would like to thank various BT'ers. First and foremost I'd like to thank runnergirl. If it weren't for her I wouldn't have the best speech ever. And I'd like to thank her for her willingness to allow me to stalk her. I like to give a shout out to all the BT'ers with red bikes- because we all know that red bikes are faster. I'd like to thank all the burrito loving BT'ers, such as runnergirl, 3558, Comet, and maybe even Jess- though she's a quesedilla lover. I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me through hurricane Katrina. I look forward to meeting all the cool BT'ers at Gasparilla- it's going to be a good time. Don't worry runnergirl- I wouldn't write a speech without including the burrito. I heart burritos! I encourage all BT'ers to respond to this thread and post only things that apply to me- such as why I'm your favorite BT'er, why you enjoy my posts, why you think I'm so funny ,etc. You get the picture. And don't try and make this thread about you- because it's about me on the soon-to-be special day. BTW- don't be jealous of my new star- I've worked my butt off getting this new status and never once cheated and double/triple posted like some people do! |

And Janelle, what is it with you short changing yourself and others leaving off an extra zero (i.e. 1,00). Can I brag about intellectual pursuits? I just beat my chess computer at 1400, normally it crushes me at that level. I forgot, that age of the intellectual is dead... they were boring anyway. bts |

I saw no harm in it, so why should you care if she is trying to humor me. If you don't like it...then stay away. Which is why I am only at 1,000 (or soon to be) after a year plus on this site. now there was a quote on this site that I saw...I think it was "gfs"....now I only wonder what that could stand for...... I just really wish that my computer was more distraught about it. It was so impassive when I started screaming "in your face". Then it just pointed out how I should have beat it ten moves sooner... stupid machine. Oh, looky 102 posts to go for the grand. And it's only taken me a year and a half to get this far. bts |
