Sensei  Sin City |  Subject: Rex RyanHoping to hear from you Jets fans... I don't follow the escapades of Rex Ryan that much other than what I hear listening to ESPN all day. BUT, if he was the coach for MY team? I would be pizzed. From the audio spots I hear, and the current state of the Jets, he just seems almost incompetent. |

Tebow was foisted upon him by the owners who were trying desperately to drum up some positive publicity in a two-NFL-team-town where the other team had just won the SB for the second time in 5 years while the Jets had badly underachieved. Ryan has always hitched his wagon to Sanchez and made it clear that Sanchez is his guy win or, unfortunately, lose. That said, I really don’t know what he’s doing. I don’t think he’s a particularly outstanding offensive or defensive tactician. I’d put him in the category of “players’ coach”, but I don’t think he inspires the kind of loyalty that other well-known players’ coaches like Ditka or Harbaugh or Billick inspire. I don’t really think he’s outstanding in any one particular area, and, again, in his defense, you can probably say that about 75% of the head coaches in the league, but that doesn’t cut it for very long with a fan base like the Jets have. Honestly, he’s probably lasted two years longer than he had any right to think he would. |

He has NO time managment skills whatsoever. Even his suppsoed defensive genius isn't much more than a basic 4-3 or cover 2. You never see corner blitz, end rush sweeps or anything. If a guy acts like a clown and is a clown with the media, what do you expect but his players to emulate him? Shows up in a blonde wig for a presser to act like his brother? C'mon man! He's not a leader at all. Best coach in the NFL right now: John Fox. He's made Denver beyond competitive and molded his playcalling and schemes according to the talent he has, not what he wants guys to learn or do. He uses his players strengths. I'd be bold and say Ryan isn't a head coach in the NFL next year, but I don't think Woody has the guts or desire to win to make a change. If he gets his $$$ from the team, he doesn't want or need more. Reality says Rex and Sanchez both stay and go 6-10. |

Ignoring all of the terrible calls that allowed the Packers to take the lead in the first place, the ref from said Superbowl is on the record saying they effed it up. |
