Anyone else not watch TV?  We canceled our cable in September and have only watched TV twice since then (football playoffs while out of town and the superbowl).

Sure I miss not watching 24, don't really care that I am missing American Idol or Dancing with the Stars, sure I would like to see some of the olympics.

Just curious if there are others out there that don't watch TV.

I haven't had cable for 7 years and I don't have an attennae on my TV.

I watch cycling.tv and I sometimes rent episodes from the Video store. I saw the entire 1st, 2nd and 3rd season of 24.

No cable.

Wednesday: Lost and sometimes/usually the show that follows (it's pretty dumb).

Friday: Washington Week and McLaughlin Group

Sunday: Meet The Press

I like Grey's Anatomy but it's on past my bedtime (Sunday at 10p).

we own a tv, but its in the cold, cluttered, unfinished basement. the kids didn't even know it was there until this winter. we did take it out for the olympics once. in the winter, bill and i will watch stuff while we ride on the trainer, but lately i've been riding in the mornings twice a week, so fi gets to watch seseme street while i listen to tunes on my nano (which is more helpful to my workout anyway). most of the time i'd rather NOT have a tv in the house at all, but its been nice this past few weeks. i don't like 'plugging in' kids, but now that fi is 2 1/2 i'm okay with her watching a couple hours a week.

we do watch dvds on my imac at night. usually 1-3 a week. lately we've been watching a lot of ray harryhausen movies because ella is interested in how stop motion films are made (we just bought 'corpse bride').

i guess i should say that i don't mind tv, i just HATE ads. right up there with hour commutes in a 'you're wasting your life one little bit at a time' kind of way.

I never watch TV.  Only two shows I sit down and watch are grey's anatomy and Prison Break.  Occasionally I'll watch the Simpsons, Family Guy and south park, but it depends.  Half the time I'm off doing something else on the computer or in the kitchen and not paying attention to it.

However, my TV is usually on from the time I wake up until I go to bed.  My bird gets cranky if she doesn't get to watch her cartoons during the day.

Food Network: I used to love watching Two Fat Ladies cook. And I love Martha! Julia Child was my all time favorite though (but not to be found on Food Network!).

I cannot abide Emeril.

When I'm cooking with maddie I speak in a julia childs voice. It's so bad that if Maddie hears a can opener she comes running insisting that I speak it. Sometimes I slip into a french accent, but I don't think she notices...

Shouldn't this be in the Confessions thread?  And after admitting to this you might want to lay off of RGRBILL...

The 2 fat ladies were great, but they made som nasty recipes.

heck yea they did, but they were fun to watch.

My personal favorite now is Good Eats with Alton Brown.  I love how he does his recipies from a food science perspective, dipping into the chemestry. I'd have to say after watching his show for a while, my general cooking skills have improved.  He's just full of great advice

DVD's only:  No cable, No Satelite.

We've been like this for meny months and there's NOTHING I truely miss about tv programming these days.  More radio while working around the house instead of the tv for background noise cuz there's always that half hour delay in getting things done when something just HAS to be watched.

A lot more is getting done around the house without the wasted time of watching tv.

We have a very nice HDTV and Home Theater, I even made a HTPC (Home Theater PC) for system control and recording HDTV and to burn shows to DVD. But, we never watch it, never. OK, we did watch TDF, Superbowl ( had a party) and the World Series (I am in Houston), and we are watching the Olympics, but other wise, the kids use it to watch cartoon network and Disney.

I can use the big screen as a computer monitor, so I have, and do log on to BT (bike porn on the big screen!!!)

I have a few months of CSI on my hard drive waiting to be viewed.

We do watch 2 or 3 DVDs a month on a Saturday night.
