Two threads about Hostess products clearly wasn't enough.

What we really need is a poll. So lay it out there... what were your favorite Hostess products and why?

I voted Twinkies and cupcakes...but it literally scares me to think of how many Hostess apple fruit pies I ate (washed down with chocolate milk of course) while growing up.

On my 14th birthday, I had a Hostess Cupcake with a paper match stuck in it for my cake.  We were traveling (to Hawaii--woe-is-me), and that was the best my mom could come up with.  Still makes me smile!

Plus, any baked good you can peel frosting off of and save for the end rocks.

Ding Dongs and Cherry Fruit Pies.

Or, in the famous words of Woody from Cheers: Sno Balls! Because they're bite sized!

I love cupcakes, ding dongs, and the donettes.  When I was a kid I had a ding dong in my lunch just about every day.  Always ate the frosting shell off the top first.

I'm one of the odd balls, I never liked Hostess treats.  I don't know what it is, they just never did it for me.  That's why I'm going to buy a box a Twinkies and throw them in the freezer.  Who knows you just might see them on ebay in 10 years Laughing(Even though I betcha that there will still be Twinkies, they wont be the iconic 'Hostess Twinkie' brand)

I added Banana Flips, basicly a round artificially flavored banana cake filled with cream, folded over like a taco.

Back in the mid 70's I always knew it was a good day when I got one in my metal Wonder Woman lunchbox!

I think this may put a kind into a lot of preppers plans. I think the Twinkies have a shelf life comparable to half life of nuclear radiation.

I think I may have good news for you all.

It looks like a Chinese company is going to buy the recipe's from Hostess and shortly after the first of the year they will begin to export them to the USA.

Another success story for American Unions!!

On another note, the Chinese are not interested in the Union Tart.

French Toast in my house will never be the same

I can't even THINK of any other baker that makes the thick bread like that.

When I was in 6th grade, my BEST friend's dad was a Hostess delivery driver. He had stores of Hostess any prepper would be proud of. 3 freezers full. He would send me home with a grocery bag.

Anyway, if you have never had a frozen Twinkie... give it a try. It's the only way I can eat them. Muummmmm.

I answered Cupcakes, as they are the only Hostess snack I've ever eaten, and it was well over 20 years ago. Now that Hostess will be no more, I feel I must try a Twinkie, at least once in my life!

Man, I cannot believe no one has put Suzy Q's on here before me - they were awesome!

Another product they used to make, but stopped several years ago, were cupcakes that were spice cake. I would ride my bike to the store every time I had .50 when I was a kid so I could get a package of these. Later, after I got my driver's license, I would stop at almost every Hostess store I came across and see if they had any of them

I totally forgot they made bread too lol.

Growing up, there was a Hostess bakery new my dad's work.  Every one in a while he'd stock up on "day old bread" - which was ironic as there is so many preservatives in there, 1 day after it's baked isn't to different from fresh!

I don't know who the first person to deep fry a Twinkie was, but Good Golly is it awesome! Take the best tasting, worst for you food product and make it better. And worse. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and it just keeps getting better!
